Tax day will come and go, but it looks like the tea party movement is going to stick around for a while.

Rebecca Wales, lead organizer of the tax day protests in Washington, D.C., tells the Huffington Post that the tea party movement has only just begun. Additional tea parties are already in the works for Independence Day. (In the famous unpremeditated rant that got this whole movement started, CNBC's Rick Santelli said that he wanted a Chicago Tea Party in July).

"We already have tea parties being planned on July 4th," Wales said. "Somebody asked today [if we are] going to have a Million Person March. I don't know about that."

Despite wretched rainy weather and a lack of cooperation from authorities -- D.C. police yanked a permit for a second event at the Treasury, and the Secret Service temporarily cleared out the park where the event was held -- Wales says authorities told her they counted some 3,000 tea partiers.

"Despite all the problems we've had today, it's been amazing," she said. "My hope is that in 2010 people running for office really know that they have to take issues like limited government -- they have to take fiscal responsibility -- they have to really look at those things."

6,000 people at the tea party in ST.Louis according to KMOV. Only 750 showed up for the first tea party in Febuary. Bush and Obama have created a debit that will be hard to come back from. As loyal americans we should keep calling congress to tell them to stop the spending.

For my liberal friends: The War(s) are still on, so those protests shouldn't end.

For any conservatives out there: Um, are you serious? Where were you 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 year(s) ago when all of this damn debt and the situation that put us here was developing?

US Conservatives: A lunatic fringe and damn proud of it!

Because it worked so well the first time? Don't these folks remind you of that family member not quite right in the head? Always doing things that other family members just shrug their shoulders over and nod -- with a sigh -- that it's "just Harold being Harold". Or, maybe that's just MY family.

President George W. Bush's tax cuts cut 13 million people on the lower-end of the income scale from the income tax rolls -- people who don't pay taxes aren't worried about the tax burden.

So what happens when the Bush tax cuts expire?

It would appear that cutting taxes on the lower incomes simply grows more people who are dependent upon handouts. Thus they don't care if taxes are hurting everybody else.

With all the nonsense that went on yesterday, with all the hate spewed, we woke up this morning content in the knowledge that Barck Obama is our President, we have a Democratic Congress, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it, to steal a line from the "religious" right.

Exactly--and that's what makes all this vitriol against the President so hard to understand. But considering some of the sources, maybe not.

We all want to change the world.
You tell me that it's evolution, well you know
We all want to change the world.
But when you talk about destruction,
Don't you know that you can count me out..." '

Stick that in your craw, GOP!!!!

Medicine and education have become effective and should be made available to everybody in need, not because it advances them, but because it advances our whole country. This will cost, but the example of Socail Security shows such government programs can deliver with a minimal overhead. We should expect a third or more of medical costs can be saved while the people get superior care.

How to introduce rational programs may be a serious problem while people are willing to demonstrate against the necessary taxes. It's not clear a comprehensive program can be funded with a regressive tax like Social Security except people get a greater share in wages from increased productivity. Even so. Consider "Joe the Plumber" who opposes programs that are designed to benefit him.

Opposition to taxes may cause hyperinflation as the government prints more money without the taxes that withdraw it again from commerce. This is a debt problem -- the most money is made by bank lending. We can expect a credit card crunch to match the foreclosure crunch becoming visible during the next year and inflation to be particularly serious in a second Obama administration.

Much inflation will be due to the Bush deficits alone, but steep deficits will keep inflation at a boil. Repressive wage policies have kept down the prices of most things ordinary people might buy. While this pushes the money upward and inflates investment products, the investment products cannot make a good return in the absence of real goods.

Socail Security? Your kidding right? Please tell me your kidding. Social Security is about to go broke. I'm 31 and don't expect it to be here when I retire.

A 3rd of Medical costs saved? Again, please tell me your kidding. The govt is as inefficient an organism as you will ever find on this planet. They will end up spending more for worse coverage all the while reducing the wages of those who work in the medical field because they will tell them what they can charge for a procedure. Get ready for long lines, a worse product and a medical black market.

Necessary taxes? We could balance the budget and start paying off the debt with the taxes we currently collect if the govt would cut the unnecessary, vote buying programs.

Hyperinflation will occur because Obama just mortgaged the country.

I don't think that Joe the Plumber is the sharpest tool in the shed but he opposes many of those programs on principle. Take me for example. I will benefit from Obama's Tax cut but oppose his entire tax cut policy because I see no reason for a so called "rich" person to pay a higher percentage.

It's kind of like giving a bum money...you know he's just going to go waste it on alchohol. It may keep him warm for the night but the next morning he's right back on the street corner begging for more.

This whole entitlement thought process just burns me up.
