Thousands of bogus students remain free to enter Britain despite new laws aimed at tightening controls on immigration. The Times has learnt that hundreds of colleges recently approved by the Home Office to accept non-EU students have not been inspected by its officers.

The UK, US, and a number of other nations would do themselves a favor to end all student visas from a number of countries around the world. Ending immigration reguests might be a wise idea as well.

Doing so would force those countries to improve their own universities and end the opportunities for people who have no attention of attending class.

I'm not sure that's feasible for the UK since it's incorporated European Human Rights law into its own legal system. Any attempt at that and they'd probably be wide open to litigation over discrimination. Of course all this is just giving power to the racist elements in British, both native and Muslim.

Actually U.S. system greatly benefits from foreign students, especially from Far East ( China, Taiwan etc).
It is no secret that such students are generally better disciplined and behaved than your average Pakistani student. Lack of a religious fervor is also a h-u-u-g-e plus for admitting and working with Far East students.
