John Oliver Talks Tyranny With Tea Partiers On The "Daily Show" (VIDEO)

"The Daily Show" continued its coverage of Wednesday's "Tea Parties" last night, with footage of John Oliver mingling with protesters in Morristown, NJ. The British host gets numerous attendees to compare the current American government to imperial rule in the 1700's -- then schools them on the difference between "metaphorical thumbscrews" and actually "put[ting] screws to thumbs."

Funny however it is taxation without representation when they pass the largest "stimulus" bill without reading the final version. This is a government completely out of control.

Before you reply with the typical "Bush, Bush" reply, I thought he was awful. This is the part you will not see on TV. They boooed the Republican Rep's that came to speak at these parties. Mainly because most of them went along with these awful spending spree's.

Folks we have to get these bozo's under control. The printing presses at the Fed can only hide this mess for so long.

Suggestions for how to pull the country out of the Bush Depression - which we haven't seen anything of yet because of what the White House is doing?

I want them to fire every executive at any firm that received a bailout, and take all their money to apply against the bailout.

But Obama is not spending for the heckuvit. He INHERITED a depression and nobody has suggested another way out of it.

Finally someone is talking about British tyranny.. It was astounding to listen to the media shower glowing praises about the gift Brown gave Obama (quill made from the wood of an anti slavery ship)... Nobody mentioned, just for the record, before Britain made anti slavery ships, they made pro-slavery ships... They were the first ones.. The spanish just followed the British lead...

they didn't beat him up. Ziegler is just a bit highly dramatic don't you think? If you read the entire story, Ziegler had definately crossed the line.

Yeah he was playing it for the camera, but the officers also did something they shouldn't have. They did not double lock the cuffs. This stops the cuffs from getting tighter and tighter with each click of the latch. The cops can be polite about the cuffing, close the cuffs and double lock them. You can't get them off but you don't get hurt. Or if they don't like you they just swing them closed. They tend to get tighter and tighter the more you move around, cutting into you wrists till your hand go numb. They dig in deep an hurt a lot. To the world it looks like they are just cuffing you, but you and they know different.

He failed to mentioned the tax break for the East India Company was the reason for the original protest. The Bostonians did not want to be the substitute payer for the company's tax break. Thus the ill organized GOP Tea Party was about ending Bush's modern British hit on the American people of continuing to pay for the tax breaks and credits our corporations receive via the GOP, and they didn't effen know they were doing it. Stupid is as stupid does.

No, they're not a representative sample. They are the handful of dozens and dozens of interviews. How many interviews got cut because he got a reasonable and intelligent answer to his silly questions. Those folks wouldn't fit your biased view and were not willing to be the victims of his attempt at humor, so they go to the cutting room floor and you all get to see what you want to believe. It makes you laugh and re-enforces your skewed views so you can go on with your false beliefs. Come April 15th 2010 and 2011 you will find a way to blame the Republicans for the higher taxes you will be paying. Someone will make another funny film about it and you will be able to continue to live in your happy skewed lives.

I hate to break it to you Radrman but who's to say that the interviews they didn't include contained more intelligent discussions? I recognize what you are saying as a possibilty but it is also possible that it is not the case. That's a nice theory you have there but i'm afraid that you have no evidence to support it.
