Kelly Bensimon's OTHER Legal Trouble: Alleged Jewelry Design Theft

Kelly Bensimon is NOT a jewelry designer as this week's Real Housewives of NY would like you to believe. In fact, that Owl design that she proudly displayed on this week's show are pieces STOLEN from one of our favorite designers, Celeste Greenberg, founder of Tuleste (and an ACTUAL designer). It gets better: not only are the owl designs NOT Kelly's, she is currently tied up in a lawsuit about the stolen property with Tuleste!

We spoke to Celeste (who is at Coachella), who declined to comment, but we got confirmation that the lawsuit was indeed in progress

I'm no fan of Kelly, but has anyone looked up the Tuleste owl design? It isn't the same at all.

Kelly's is different--in fact, I didn't like Kelly's much but it's better that the Tuleste one, which looks surprisingly cheap and tacky.

In any event, I don't think they have much of a case. You can't copyright "owl" on any jewelry anywhere. (Ditto the Heidi Klum lawsuit, ultimately dismissed. You can't copyright "cloverleaf" either--and Heidi's (ugly!) cloverleafs were different than the company that sued her.
