Wall Street Journal:

In America today, there are almost as many people making their living as bloggers as there are lawyers. Already more Americans are making their primary income from posting their opinions than Americans working as computer programmers, firefighters or even bartenders.

Paid bloggers fit just about every definition of a microtrend: Their ranks have grown dramatically over the years, blogging is an important social and cultural movement that people care passionately about, and the number of people doing it for at least some income is approaching 1% of American adults.

Well, I kinda doubt 1% of working Americans get paid for blogging. But the point I want to make here is that it's a good thing to look for sources of income by thinking outside the box. Lots of people could make money working at home pursuing their hobbies.
I'm in the process of doing just that, by taking up an old hobby: painting. Won't get me rich or anything, but it's better than doing nothing and it could help us "ride the wave" till the economy gets better.

One year ago, this guy was in charge of and responsible for much of the crap that was propelled in candidate Obama's direction.
And now he's writing in Rupert's Recent Rag Requisition?
He evidently did not consider reading the posts on this blog last year.
If he had, then the article might link reasonable, intelligent discourse and not monetary profit to blogging.

Blogging is also a popular hobby according to the WSJ. A lot of people enjoy surfing the web. How does one determine when a person who comments upon blogs posted on a site, such as HP, & the site posts the comment becomes a blogger or is called a blogger? HP limits comments to less than 250 words. One could object to calling one who submits comments on a blog shorter than 250 words a blogger. Is there a consensus on when one becomes a blogger? Yes, I'm off thread again.
I should be grateful if anyone tells me when an idle commenter, commentator(?), becomes a blogger. I'd appreciate citations & links. I'm off to Wikipedia now to see if they have an opinion.

Wow what a biting comment. Those of us that watch his show have now seen the light and will start following those Pillars of Truth and Fairness Bill Oraly and Rush.

Thank you again for redirecting my wasted life to the Right.

It must be nice to be paid by WSJ etc. to have someone else write something for you filled with statistics and very little content. This guy is an overpaid consultant who simply won't go away.

This is the guy that didn't even know about how delegates were awarded in caucus states, and now he has the whole blogosphere and the economy figured out? And he just hired Dana Perino...

Mark Penn and Dana Perino in the same room?

That a whole lotta potential for disinformation all in one place.

We've reached the critical mass of two people being more wrong than the sum of their lies.

Add Ari Fleisher to the mix, and the room will collapse on a black hole of untruth.

What a heartening "microtrend"! The disasters of the Boomer generation, the WORST GENERATION, will have to be cleaned up, with the massive aid of the Net, by Gen-X and the Millenials. They crushed the powers that be in the primaries and the general last year with the Net. They constantly out everything with it. They've crushed the control of the American psyche by the MSM media and the incredibly destructive forces that control it--not least the neocons and their financial backers--with it. Onward and upward, bite by bite.
