An online community of female supporters of Gov. Sarah Palin is launching a last minute campaign to derail the candidacy of Kathleen Sebelius for the secretary post at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Team Sarah, which was founded to support and mobilize for the McCain-Palin ticket and claims tens-of-thousands of members, blasted out a petition on Monday morning urging members to "flood the phone lines" in opposition to Sebelius' candidacy.

Hi Team!

Today's the day! Our Not on Our Watch! Phone Bank Blast is set for TODAY from 2pm - 4pm ET. Write a note & stick it on your forehead, set your cell phone alarm - do what you have to do to remember to make your calls TODAY!

Our goal is to flood the phone lines of the Senate Finance Committee and make our message heard loud and clear - NO SEBELIUS! Not on Our Watch!

For the complete project information, including the phone numbers of the members of the Senate Finance Committee, visit: http://www.teamsarah.org/profiles/blogs/team-sarah-announces-the-not or "gather around the Water Cooler.

Also, if you haven't sent out your postcards or letters yet, it's not too late! Send them out as soon as you can so that they reach the Senate Finance Committee this week.

Sebelius's nomination is set to come to a vote before the Senate Finance Committee this Tuesday, April 21. The nomination is expected to pass through the committee and ultimately the Senate, though on Friday the terrain got a bit rougher, when ranking Republican Sen. Charles Grassley criticized the Kansas Governor for understating the amount of money she raised from doctor who performs abortions -- likely the same revelation offending the Team Sarah members.

Progressive groups have been pushing for an expeditious confirmation of Sebelius for weeks, arguing that the administration is being disadvantaged by lacking a cabinet figure to tackle a subject of such key political and economy importance (health care).

Here, for instance, is the SEIU's petition:

Earlier this month, a Republican Senator put a mysterious hold on the confirmation of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as Health and Human Services Secretary. It's hard to believe that while the clock ticks on fixing health care, the top leadership position in the government's health agency is left vacant. This is simply unacceptable.

Now, I don't claim to be especially savvy when it comes to political organizing, nor am I necessarily thought of as a marketing genius, but it seems to me that if Sarah Palin has supporters who have to stick Post-It notes on their foreheads ro remind themselves to support their candidates (assuming they will write backwards on the Post-Its in order to view this vital reminder in a mirror), then Team Sarah is going downhill faster that a team of 30 sled dogs racing down Mount McKinley.

But, hey - that's a GOOD thing!

In the 2004 election,Austin was a blue dot in a sea of red. In 2008,there was quite a bit more blue.I am proud to be in the Austin area.We don't want more Republicans. We don' want the ones we have. Rick Perry is a well coiifed embaressment. If Texas secedes,us Austinite will secede all on our own. Rick Perry is supposed to govrn all of Texas, not just suck up to his hardcore conservative fan base.

If you look at a red-blue county map of Texas, there are already large areas that are blue. It is only a matter of time until Texas turns into a blue state.

If Michele Obama had belonged to a group advocating an armed populace for seceding from the Union like hubby Todd and his membership in the Alaskan Independence party. You think the right wouldn't have insisted on a "lynching party" for that spouse ?

I Feel a bit sorry for the Republican Party. Thier sole existence is based on finding other groups to hate and find fault with. They spent so much time defending thier narrow mindedness and lack of knowledge they don't know how to help anyone but themselves anymore. I'm sorry> We need at least a two party system . The Repubs have proven by thier lack of ideas and leadership that they do not deserve to be one of them.

I wish everyone would stop referring to Palin's looks. Have they seen her without her glasses? There is a reason she always wears those glasses and it isn't because she cannot afford contacts.

Sarah can't even successfully lead a family of four much less a country. Judging by the COMMENTS of Republican Candidate children of late, such as Bristol Palin and Megan Mccain, I'd say the Repubs as we know them are toast. Thier narrow minded, failed ideology cannot even get the support of their own children.

Has anyone, anywhere, heard any Republican, conservative group, or conservative pundit say one decent thing about Obama or his Administration? These people are the most negative cry babies I have ever witnessed. There is nothing any Democrat or liberal has done or suggested that hasn't been ridiculed endlessly. It is all so tiresome and unproductive. These people put their own party and career ahead of the United States' welfare. They are egocentric selffish personified.

We had been very positive, then in the election we saw Palin destroyed by the press. After the election, Barry brings Rahm, one of the most hateful divisive people in politics, as his chief of staff - so, we learned from our loss. Barry wants my money so he can give it to Rahm's buddies at AIG and to pay for universities to have a few more administrators and studies classes. So, negative and anger is all about fear - fear for the first amendment (fairness doctrine), fear for the debt he is putting on our children, fear because a few of us have shotguns and rifles for hunting, and fear that if our children get a 35 on the ACT, their earned spot at a university will go to a less-fortunate person with a 25 ACT. Personally, I'm tired of paying around $40K in Federal Taxes and having those that receive my money whine about it.

I wish I paid 40K in federal taxes. You should be counting your blessings. I pay about 16K and don't miss it a bit. There is much more to life than money. As for your guns, sorry that is an old myth that keep recurring. As for the less fortunate person with an 25 ACT taking your child's place. There are enough spots in our class rooms for them all. We just need to support the education system to have universities for them to go to.

WTF are you talking about? "We had been very positive..." Did you even watch the republican national convention? That was the biggest show of negative nabobism I've ever seen. All the obnoxious sneering and inciting. Remember the words "educated elite" and "community organizer" being said in that mocking tone? Remember "socialist" and "muslim" and "not a citizen?" You're so out of touch you think a score of 35 is going to get somebody into a university? It wouldn't even get you into the dumpiest community college. As far as paying $40 K in Federal Taxes, that's the biggest joke of all. If you were making enough to pay that, you wouldn't be on this board whining.

There are other countries you can possibly find more to your liking, feel free and let us know how that works out. Perhaps you can convince the government you decide to relocate with to tailor the policies to the Republican mantra you so enjoyed,

Kathleen Sebelius is the anti-Sarah Palin. Palin-all charisma and zero substance. Kathleen Sebelius all substance, and not so much charisma. Palin, high dollar rented wardrobe. Sebelius, understated elegant personal style. Perhaps if they appeared together one would implode, lets hope it is Palin.

Sarah Palin does not have the intellectual ability or drive to run America. She needed SIX years and FIVE (community) colleges to finally obtain her paltry little FOUR year degree in journalism.

In other words, YOUR DENTAL HYGIENIST HAS MORE FORMAL EDUCATION THAN SARAH PALIN.

NOT ON MY WATCH SARAH PALIN. NOT ON MINE HONEY!

A few days ago Palin was delivering her speech to the pro-lifers and special needs people. Palin admitted she thought about having an abortion but decided against it. Hello, that is called PRO CHOICE.

She is comfortable with the fact that she can exercise that right but no one else is allowed to have that same option. What is this hypocrisy??? She gets to decide for the rest of Americans. I dont think so. This woman is so into herself it is painful to watch. Do as I say and not as I do syndrome.

She is a lying, manipulating, self-absorbed excuse for a human being. She has proven that as a mother she is incompetent and as a governor, she is absolutely useless. She is comic relief. She doesnt even deserve having her name in the same paragraph as K. Sebelius. I feel better now.
