Miss California: I Pray For And Feel Sorry For Perez Hilton (VIDEO)

Miss California Carrie Prejean says she prays for Miss USA judge blogger Perez Hilton.

On MSNBC's 9 AM hour Tuesday, the beauty contestant, who may have won had it none been for her answer to Hilton's question about gay marriage, also said she's sorry for him.

After Tamron Hall played a clip of Perez defending his remarks that Prejean is "a bitch" and "the c word," she asked Miss California what she thought of his attacks.

"I can only say to him that I will be praying for him. I feel sorry for him, I really do," Prejean said. "I think he's angry, I think he's hurt. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. He asked me specifically what my opinion was on that subject and I gave him an honest answer."

She also said she has been surprised at the support she has gotten since Sunday's Miss USA pageant and the lack of hate she has received.

A second 11 year old boy in 2 weeks has commiteed suicide for being bullied for being "gay" because he was different ie. he spoke with an accent. Only when gays are accepted and have the same legal rights as heterosexuals will this sort of bullying stop. Bullying on the basis of sexual identity is now the most prevalent type of bullying in the US. The responsibility of these deaths also lies with the parents who pass along their own bigoted views to their children. As Christians, they should be promoting loving everybody equally, even those who are different. Miss USA should represent everyone and use her platform to educate, not divide, whatever her personal views. This is not a political nomination.

Although it is horrible that a child committed suicide for ANY reason, I really want to know where you got your statistics on gay bullying being the "most prevalent type of bullying in the US". I think you had better check some actual facts on that one before making that assumption. The simple fact is that kids bully based on a variety of reasons, nearly all of which stem from some visible difference in the child. This includes weight, height, with or without eyeglasses, physical disability, sexual orientation, and race. This also includes those kids that are socially isolated and don't make friends easily, which become fast targets. Since you are aware of the 2 children who died specifically due to being gay, why don't you come up with the number of kids who killed themselves from "cyber" bullying or for all other types of bullying.

As a fairly moderate individual, I think that we have to always strive to find balance and harmony in all facets of life. We have let our personal opinions about social, political and spiritual issues convolute the most simple and basic rights and liberties that we have. Although it may be abstruse for some, it is the foundation of who we are and what we become in this great country of ours. She was asked a simple question, (Her opinion) and unfortunately she didn’t give the answer that someone was looking for and for this reason alone she was penalized for it. This takes places everyday during job interviews across this country, but the major difference is that most interviewers aren’t asking questions that revolve around your bedroom. That is something that should remain private and personal whether you agree or disagree. The question should have never been asked, but it was.

However, if my memory serves me correctly, neither President Obama nor Vice President Biden personal believes in gay marriage and the gay and lesbian communities supported their ticket overwhelmingly.
