from today's The Guardian: US government to drop espionage charges against Aipac officials

There is a sordid bit at the end about hush money and bribery to congress. Please read it.
Was this covered by the U. S. media at all. I must've missed it. (not!)

Dropping charges against these two spies and not considering any for their champion facilitator and truth obstructionist Harman, only underscores the fact that the law is doled out only to common folk. I would urge everyone to write their senator and congressperson and tell them to follow due process.

Can some one PLEASE tell me why is the American governmnet so scared of Israel, they live off of our dime. Would they have ever dropped charges against this person if this man/woman had been an american citizen?

Why NOT Trun a "Blind Eye" to wrong doing because of some LOBBY?

We have to get serious about HONESTY in Government and Business!

We can NOT let either side get away UNTOUCHED!
________________________________________________

We need to start by reforming campaign funding for example:

Washington-Wall Street Scam: Just FACTS!

$5 Billion Wall Street gave to Congress over Ten Year:

1. Average $7.5 Million to each Senator/4 years!
2. Average $1.86 Million to each House Member/4 years!

There was a study sometime back that purported that for every dollar donated to political campaigns, the donor averaged $300 in return. No wonder so many gave to members of both parties. It is time that the taxpayers reaped this ROI by having full funding of all political campaigns. It won't guarantee honesty out of our elected, but it will at least take away the excuses for not representing the needs of their constituents. The added benefit is they would have time to actually read the bills that they are voting on instead of spending so much much time begging for money. Also maybe our congress might not just be a social club for the rich and well connected.

Funny how the commentators all of a sudden support Bush's illegal wire tapings when it suits their purpose. If Harman is so worried - why is she asking for all the wiretaps to be released?

What kind of nonsense casuistry is this? Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that any potential charges against Harman should be dropped because of an illegal wiretap. Nonetheless, the wiretap shoudl DESTROY her political career, since it shows Harman, like the two spies for Israel from AIPAC, to have been a traitor to the United States. There's no free pass for espionage just because you're working for AIPAC and Israel. It's a great thing for this country that the Harman scandal has surfaced right now, on the heels of of idiot neocon war in Iraq and the Madoff fleecing of America by the Wall St. subprime con men who bankrupted our country and the American people in order to light their cigars with $100 bills on Nantucket. The Internet has completely changed the nature of American politics. It's impossible to hide ANYTHING anymore. Even the uneducated, lower-class white mob the neocons used to count on to elect their candidates on the basis of "right to life" and other Culture War flimflams are beginning to see the light, now that the war in Iraq is going to lose Afghanistan and probably Pakistan and now that Archie and Edith Bunker have seen the Wall St. fat cats wipe them and their country out financially.

This smacks of wishful thinking. It will be too
hard to drop after the recent revelations--maybe intended
to circumvent the planned dropping of charges.

Moreover reports state Pelosi was informed
by authorities of Harman's seditious acts
which killed the appointment.

Contact Justice--prosecute the AIPAC 2 and HARMAN
Read and weep

More Pat Buchannan garbage from the American Conservative. I guess it is only fitting that the guy who worked for Nixon is fixated on conspiracy.

The hero in this story is the oft-maligned Pelosi. Pelosi was very staunch during the Democratic primaries, too, when Democratic fat cat neocons did all in their power to get her aid in stopping "Hussein" on his path to the nomination. Harman's the traitor; Pelosi's the real American. Blocking Harmon and not giving in to Dem neocons about Obama have shown America what she's made of. The tide is turning against AIPAC's control of Congress and American politics in general. All because of the Net.

And we should be their ally on the same basis. This is how realpolitik works. We should, for instance, do all in our power to block Netanyahu and Co. from bombing Iran, since that would give us $10 gas and real Depression, with a "D." The twin fiascos of Iraq and Wall St., with the aid of the Net, have finally helped the poor unwashed white masses of Americans to see how AIPAC and the Republicans have conned them ever since Reagan into voting for AIPAC's Likud Israel every four years. Fortunately, the strong majority of honest, liberal American Jews, and their counterparts in Israel, now have a lobbying voice of their own in J Street. Let all Americans of goodwill join with J Street to crush the pernicious influence, and, yes, treason, of AIPAC. Let's have an Israel policy defined by George Mitchell and Obama, not AIPAC. That's not only America's only hope, but Israel's too. The arrogance of AIPAC, like the arrogance of its Wall St. supporters, has almost destroyed this country by bankrupting us, and handing victory to the Taliban in Afghanistan and probably nuclear Pakistan, all because of the idiot neocons' war to "protect" Israel in Iraq. I'm sure Tel Aviv will be grateful when it is vaporized by Al Qaeda's suicide hydrogen bomb from Pakistan,

Precisely. It's very impressive to see on the Net how astute about right-wing Israel (vs. all those in Israel who want real peace and justice in the region), AIPAC, and the neocons the mass of Americans have now become. The jig is truly up for AIPAC. Obama demonstrated in his campaign that small American donors can literally crush the ability of rich AIPAC donors to control American politics, as AIPAC has since the election of Reagan to "protect" Israel from Jimmy Carter. The scales have dropped from the eyes of most "Silent Majority" white voters who've provided the votes on the ground AIPAC has needed for the past thirty years or so. All AIPAC had to do was hire Rush and Sean and toss out gun rights and "right to life," as well as anti-Communism under Reagan and "the War on Terror" under Bush, and AIPAC had the mass of white voters eating out of its hand. But now that these pitiful conned white voters have seen Republicans totally botch American foreign policy in Iraq and Wall Streeters bankrupt both America and its MIddle American rubes who've voted for Wall St. for the last thirty years, the lower orders are getting a bit angry.

I hope Obama's people read this stuff, or he's truly toast. If Obama is seen as a tool of AIPAC, his career is over, because all the small donors Dean taught him how to tap in '04, in order to neuter the special interests, led by AIPAC, will shift in a nanosecond to Dean, Obama will be broke, and Dean will drive him from office. Who knew that the great test for Obama would come from Jane Harman and AIPAC, the defining moment of his political career?

Exactly. I think the problem is that these people have allegiance to 2 parties ... They need to chose and do what is right for America not for another country.

There would never be free weapon shipments on this order of magnitude to any other country either. And there sure as heck wouldn't be a total taboo on so much as openly debating it. With any other country.
