Beyonce: Inauguration "The Best Moment Of My Career" (VIDEO)

The always-lovely Beyonce sat down with David Letterman Wednesday night and talked to him about the inauguration, twitter and her bruises.

Letterman asked about singing "At Last" for the Obama's first dance at the Neighborhood Ball, and Beyonce told him, "It was, I think, the best moment of my career. I was so nervous, and so honored to be there... I've never watched one of my performances so many times."

She also talked about husband Jay-Z changing lyrics to "99 Problems and a Bitch Ain't One" to "99 Problems and a Bush Ain't One" for a performance in front of Obama campaign volunteers.

Later she talks about not twittering ("I pick up the phone") and how her tour harness gives her bruises.

beyonce is drop dead gorgeous... but... her whole persona is a rip from shakira; from the "world tour" to her hair style- just look back 4 (or 5) years ago. shakira on letterman. in 10 thousand hairdoes beyonce does the shakira "do" from the very same letterman appearance. i did not wait to see beyonce sing on the show--- from what i remember it would take 27 commercials to actually see her sing., (like shaki) --------- i am not a beyonce freak--- i am a shaki freak.

I like Beyonce. She's attractive, talented and has a sweet deposition. However, I plan to sit out her new movie because the concept looks mindless: white woman tries to steal black woman's husband, along with obligatory cat fight.

Yeah, that looked stupid. It's more of a cartoonish fantasy than a realistic portrayal. But it's nothing like that ridiculously sad "Lakeview Terrace" which flips a situation many black men often find themselves in (but that truth wouldn't sell).

Neither do I. Perhaps lots of folks don't realize the incredible amount of hard work that she put in starting as a child to get to where she is now. The world didn't just hand her a silver spoon. She had to earn it. Plus, it's nice to have a positive role model who as far as I can see, hasn't really done anything wrong that I know of. Maybe there's a reason some stars are over-exposed. Because everybody wants to see them? Now she's got a new movie. When the demand stops, maybe the supply will.

Wow. I see alot of hate in some of the posts. Let's be happy for this young lady. She's successful, rich, every song she releases seems to stay around for months and she's beautiful. She had a once in a lifetime experience (singing for BO and MO) and who cares if Etta James didn't get the invite? I'm an Etta James fan and I've collected many of her records and studied her career and it seems that the booze had a real negative effect on her career. She's a great singer. One of the all time greats and I don't think Beyonce was slighting her. I mean who are you gonna go with? Etta James or the most popular man on Earth?!! Seriously. I would love to walk in with a woman like that on my arm and I really can't imagine any woman not wanting to be in he shoes. Eighty million dollars made last year and your hubby pulls in what, another 100 million. C'mon! Great job Beyonce. That day was emotional for many people. Black, White, Asian, Hispanic....so many people were waiting for that day. When you started singiong and the First Couple started dancing I looked over and my girl was teary-eyed and you know what? I was too. Great job and keep it up.

PS....I love that "Let Me Upgrade You" song. Everytime I see that DirectTV commercial I have to sit down and watch the whole thing.

Is she planning on singing for Obama at another inaugural ball anytime soon? Don't think so. This wasn't a concert; it was a one-time performance. She didn't watch it to "practice" for next time, but simply to watch it. Which, btw, I have no problem with. But why go on tv and talk this way? Kinda confirms the impression I always have of her - she's full of herself, and not too bright. Sorry.

Why is it that so many people choose to spill hatred things about this girl. She doesn't carry herselkf like any of the other childhood singers she is always taking her act to the next level. What puzzles me is if you hate her why comment or read this post. Why must we tear each other down. I may have been a hater, but as an "obama-bot" now I feel obliged to encourage her to evolve.

I would love her to retain her fame, but broaden her audience so it makes just as much sense for her to perform at 2012 innaugurations.

Also I hope through her and her husbands music they can try and encourage their listeners that there is more to life than "getting yours", I miss the days when hip hop and popular music rebelled against a corporatist society.

Bey performed LIVE last night on Letterman and it was awesome. I think ole Dave was smitten. And about the $20 tickets, there are 2,000 tickets at each concert so that everyone who wants to go has the chance to go. BTW, all of the $1000 backstage tickets in Atlanta are SOLD OUT!
