Beyonce: Inauguration "The Best Moment Of My Career" (VIDEO)

The always-lovely Beyonce sat down with David Letterman Wednesday night and talked to him about the inauguration, twitter and her bruises.

Letterman asked about singing "At Last" for the Obama's first dance at the Neighborhood Ball, and Beyonce told him, "It was, I think, the best moment of my career. I was so nervous, and so honored to be there... I've never watched one of my performances so many times."

She also talked about husband Jay-Z changing lyrics to "99 Problems and a Bitch Ain't One" to "99 Problems and a Bush Ain't One" for a performance in front of Obama campaign volunteers.

Later she talks about not twittering ("I pick up the phone") and how her tour harness gives her bruises.

Actually, it's not HER song.

"At Last" is a 1941 song written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren for the musical film Orchestra Wives, starring George Montgomery and Ann Rutherford. It was first performed in the film and on record by Glenn Miller and his orchestra, vocal by Ray Eberle and Pat Friday.

Barring this fact, Ms. James' version was the most successful in sales and Billboard rankings (i.e. Etta "owned" it).

Just because Ms. Knowles has a better PR/Marketing apparatus didn't make it any less insulting for Ms. James to be passed over.

A song doesn't "belong" to any singer. "And I'm Tellin' You" does not belong to Jennifer Holliday. Jennifer Hudson delivered it, and knocked it out of the ballpark. I heard Phoebe Snow's rendition of "At Last." and at first I wanted to reject it because I felt Etta had her name on it. Phoebe did an excellent job and so did Beyonce. It's the delivery of the song that truly matters,. The original singer will always be remembered and receive their props whenever "their" song is sung.

She is so beautiful! That was a lovely color on her. I used to have a blouse that color, and every time I wore it, I got so much attention. My favorite color. She is such a classy young woman.

That last jock by Letterman was inappropriate. That's the type of joke you think, but you don't say out loud at the expense of your guest. If I were Beyonce I would make that my last appearance on his show.
