I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Meghan McCain, serving as a co-host of "The View" today, wasted little time before getting in a shot at former Vice President Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. McCain, who had previously written about how she found Karl Rove following her on Twitter "creepy," complained that Cheney and Rove are still trying to be seen as the face of the Republican Party. Last week McCain observed that the GOP leadership is "scared shitless" of the changing political landscape.

McCain mentioned disapprovingly Cheney's repeated public criticisms of Obama--which he voiced again on Fox News this week--and referred to the DNC ad released this week portraying Cheney, Rove and Gingrich as the 'new face of the GOP.' She pointed out that it's "very unprecedented for someone like Karl Rove or Dick Cheney to be criticizing the President." Her advice to them: "Go away."

She is a SPOILED BRAT who needs to go away, far far away. Where was she BEFORE the campainge? I saw some film clips of her and she's just an airhead with a famous father.

She's a cute girl. That's about the extent of her relevance. It appears that she is just another wishy washy Republcan trying to become the Left's new best buddy. We saw how that worked out for her dad. Basically she's a pretend Conservative that embraces what passes for Left Wing values and then gets covered by the Liberal media. I'm sure she gets invited to the best parties though and that's probaly as far as she'll go.
By the way, she should demand an apology from her new View buddies for the way they treated her father when he came on the show last year.
Rove and Cheney have as much right to speak in a public forum as Paul Begala and James Carville did after Bill Clinton left office. Rove and Cheney have an insiders knowledge of DC and many of those currently serving. The fact that they are criticizing Obama seems to be the only problem that most have with them. I cannot seem to recall Megan ever saying that Gore or Carter should be silent after they left DC.

"She's a cute girl."

Girl?

Cute?

Are you a neocon or neocon supporter?

You totally missed the point. Begala and Carville did not have an office in the White House. Gore waited to speak out until the country went totally off track. For goodness sake--he had no choice! As we will soon see, Gore was prescient. Cheney is committing treason (he may just be the only man alive who hasn't read his own opinion polls--bigger men would be hiding under the bed), and Rove should already be in jail for contempt of congress.

I have read some of her comments and listened to her speak. She is probably the future, and she comes from good stock. Take heed.

She & the others like her are the future of the Republican Party. She's very courageous to "stick her neck out" in a field of right winged extremists. Let's hear from more of these new young Republicans.

Meghan McCain continues to be the one bright spot in the Republican Party.

I f she is for real, then she will have a true perspective of American History and follow Ron Reagan Jr. and say no way to the Republican Party.

I doubt she will switch parties, butI don't believe that that's necessarily what is needed anyways. We NEED a "loyal opposition" to whichever party is in power. If she helps create a constructive Republican Party that offers intelligent counterpoints to the ideas of the Democratic Party, more power to her.

I've always found that having to defend my own ideas against intelligent criticisms helps me hone and focus my thoughts and the result is usually a better plan. It's the same in politics. God help us if we ever do end up a one party country, no matter which party it is.

Or she could be the 'change' that the GOP needs.
A new republican party.

We, as democrats should not face all republicans with blood in our eyes, as some of them do us. A 2 party system must be, in order for checks and balances.

not for one second do I believe that the GOP is not playing a role in this...

Always willing to go at an issue from as many sides as it takes to win, why not put little miss
McCain out there shooting off her mouth as the new "younger" side of the republican party?- Unfortunately they (she) don't have any new ideas.

If you're going to claim to be a liberal, try to be a little bit less sexist about it. It's pretty clear that, for you, her appearance takes precedence over anything she has to say. I expect that out of conservatives, but liberals are supposed to be better than that.

I watched some young republicans trying to come together to help young mothers find ways to meet their challenges in choosing to keep their babies rather than just standing out front of the Supreme Court building with signs. I'm thinking these young republications have a whole lot of sense and are the only hope for their party. Being conservative is okay. Finding solutions without spewing out hate and intolerence is also attractive. There may be hope for the RP.

I actually enjoyed watching Ms. McCain on the View. Hopefully, she will replace Elizabeth during her maternity leave. Even more, Ms. H. will decide to dive right down to FAUX. It was refreshing to actually hear the discussion with differing views without the juvenile behavior.

Meghan is my favorite Republican. She's the only one in her party who tells it like it is! Keep up the good work, Meghan.

Do not "sleep" on Megan McCain-
Right now, she is the "future" of her party
and "if" she keeps making "sense"
could become an "underground" powerhouse.
The GOP, will have to change and she'll
probably be the only one left standing.

Media loves to make stars out of selected people by putting stuff like this up.

The Republicans rejected McCain in 2000 because they were embarassed that he had fought in Vietnam. End of story

You're right, IntellectuallyHonest......Then those same Republicans bashed John Kerry four years later for HIS service in Vietnam. Remember when they mocked him by wearing band-aids with purple hearts------at their OWN convention?

Correction. McCain did not 'fight' in Vietnam, he crashed in Vietnam, again. His poor flight skills should have kept him out of the cockpit of any military aircraft but his fambly got him the job anyway. All he really managed to do was languish in their POW jail for a few years and then proclaimed himself a hero by surviving his self inflicted injuries from an incompetent bailout over enemy territory at a location he should not have been at in the first place. He was the bottom 1% of his class that was passed by fambly connections and not his intellectual or flight capabilities at Annapolis.

Exactly. He came from a family where his father and grandfather became admirals, something that he could never do with his dismal record.
