Meghan McCain Slams Cheney, Rove: "You Had Your Eight Years--Go Away" (VIDEO)

Meghan McCain, serving as a co-host of "The View" today, wasted little time before getting in a shot at former Vice President Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. McCain, who had previously written about how she found Karl Rove following her on Twitter "creepy," complained that Cheney and Rove are still trying to be seen as the face of the Republican Party. Last week McCain observed that the GOP leadership is "scared shitless" of the changing political landscape.

McCain mentioned disapprovingly Cheney's repeated public criticisms of Obama--which he voiced again on Fox News this week--and referred to the DNC ad released this week portraying Cheney, Rove and Gingrich as the 'new face of the GOP.' She pointed out that it's "very unprecedented for someone like Karl Rove or Dick Cheney to be criticizing the President." Her advice to them: "Go away."

Ms McCain mentioned something that has become widely accepted as true;
namely, that it's unprecedented for a former VP to criticize a sitting President.
If she is as ignorant about other issues as she is about recent history,
she doesn't have much credibility.

Need I mention several Al Gore's rants about President Bush;
or are you guys better informed than Ms McCain?

Although it's true that Cheney was Secretary of Defense under Reagan,
I wouldn't call it "hanging around".
Even if you don't agree with his policy positions,
Mr. Cheney still deserves respect for serving our country in two administrations.

This is great. We can not get anywhere unless we have a dialogue. I can imagine talking with Meghan and liking her too. You don't have to agree with everything. This is how things get accomplished in the real world. This is all part of the more mature approach to politics thanks to the Obama administration.

I haven't noticed this false disdain for her party mentioned in the msm. Has anyone seen or head any of this on the corporate owned media outlets, print, radio . . . ?

Her disdain was not for her party but for some of its counterproductive leaders and their antiquated rhetoric. She sounds like the John McCain that I could have considered voting for back in 2000. A Republican with ethics, common sense and leadership potential.

Agreed, PlayTOE. Almost every time I watch The View, I have to stop before I reach through the TV and strangle Elizabeth. You can have opposing political views without being a screeching idiot about it. There is no productive discourse when someone constantly interrupts and says the same thing over and over and over again. How nice to have someone who can carry on a respectful, intelligent conversation in her place.
