I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Meghan McCain, serving as a co-host of "The View" today, wasted little time before getting in a shot at former Vice President Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. McCain, who had previously written about how she found Karl Rove following her on Twitter "creepy," complained that Cheney and Rove are still trying to be seen as the face of the Republican Party. Last week McCain observed that the GOP leadership is "scared shitless" of the changing political landscape.

McCain mentioned disapprovingly Cheney's repeated public criticisms of Obama--which he voiced again on Fox News this week--and referred to the DNC ad released this week portraying Cheney, Rove and Gingrich as the 'new face of the GOP.' She pointed out that it's "very unprecedented for someone like Karl Rove or Dick Cheney to be criticizing the President." Her advice to them: "Go away."

And before you know it, by 2012, she will have amassed hundreds of thousands of new republican voters, After all, she is her fathers daughter. A trust fund baby. She is not about to throw that away.

I don't know about that, Mintcondition, but it DOES sound like she might run for public office, maybe as soon as 2010. If she does run, would you vote for her?

Re: "Does Meghan McCain Represent the Future of the Republican Party? The daughter of Republican presidential candidate John McCain hopes so. "
President Obama was elected by Independents, Reagan Democrats, Blue Dog Democrats, Republican in Name Only, Libertarians, etc. From my "Independent" perspective... the GOP stands for 1) De-Regulation of Business and 2) Regulation of Morality. The De-Regulation of Business removed consumer protections, rewarded job outsourcing and caused the economic collapse. Allowing Evangelical Christians to set the social agenda caused the "Separation of Church and State" divide over: school prayer, sex education, AIDS prevention, abortion rights, gay marriage, etc. Today the DEMS stand for working class jobs and common sense. Who knows, next election may be the opposite. There is always Hope!

Meghan remembers what Rove did to her father in the 2000 presidential campaign, the flithy "whisper rumors" that McCain fathered a black child. Rove and Cheney are two evil people. Good for her. As much as McCain was not suitable to be president, he would have been a hell of a lot more competent then Bush et al.

I"d only be convinced if she left the GOP and was independent like Ron and Patti Reagan, and Wm. F. Buckley's kid. Hey Meghan you'd could be even freer to speak your mind then, and your'e lucky you have media access that 99.9% of everyone else DOESN'T.

I like Megan McCain. She's honest. And for the republican party as of late, its rare.

I like her too, the rest of them should follow her example.

she's not honest, just looking to be daddies girl for the inheritance. She is going to tell people how rough her life is when she has NEVER had to want for anything. Ya, she is honest and credible.

The more I hear from Meghan, the more I like her. This country needs both its major political parties to be viable and to govern for the majority of the people, not the fringes. Unfortunately, the Republicans seem to be coalescing around their base and not looking to the interest of the large center. That is why they lost.

Meghan provides a centrist option that is more appealing to the "Obamacan" wing of the Republican party.... And those of us who are left of center and realize that the Republicans will probably rise again one day, better hope its the Meghan McCains who rule, not the Sarah Palins.

Some people are so proud of where the Democratic party is right now that they can't help but to gloat in its success. When sitting at the kids table of politics screaming out our progressive message all we wanted was to be heard. Now that we are in the majority and the White House, people like Meghan are taking notice and trying to immulate a winning formula. Yet I find it reprehensable that she is getting some major push back from those same liberals begging to be heard with their "we don't need you now" or "why don't you just convert to a Democrat" statements.

If our message of change and inclusion has taken root even on the Republican side that's a good thing right? Don't be like the Republicans who were so proud and arrogant, thinking they were going to have a permanent majority, that they became a victim of their own success and are now back at the kids table again.

Do you make over $250,000 a year?

If so, well you will only be paying the same tax rate you did under Clinton - another 3% more.

If not - let me make this perfectly clear:

YOU WILL NOT BE PAYING ANY MORE IN TAXES!! YOU WILL BE GETTING A FREAKIN' TAX BREAK!!

HOW MANY GOSH DARN TIMES DOES IT HAVE TO BE REPEATED!!!!!!!

Of course he doesn't make 250K a yr. If he would only take a break and go get his latest check stub (if he works that is) he would see that he has more money on that check than he did a couple of months ago.

If more Republicans listened to Meghan, the party wouldn't be in so much trouble. You, however, are incoherent and should seek professional help.

You say to Cheney and Rove, "You've had your eight years, go away", why don't you say to Obama and the Democratic congress to shut up and let them go away, and for that matter, you should do the same.
Is it okay for the new administration and people like yourself to keep bringing up the past eight years to drive home your points about the shape of government due to the last administration, but those who were part of what you see as the problem should just go away into the night and be silent?
What do you do that makes this country a better place?

Yes, she is making the country a better place. As for the President and Congress, they were elected. By the people. Not by Fiat. Not by cheating. They get to stay.

The Republicans need new leadership, not the failed leadership of the old. Be a party of ideas, and disagree with Obama with Truth, not the half truth that Cheney and Rove use.

All the ruckus those "faces of the GOP" raise is more of the same divisive stance they use everywhere. Cheney and Rove because they are afraid of the past, Newt because it give him the attention he wants. None are interested in our nations debilitating ills and how to solve them. They want power, to control the possible investigations that would give them prison time. And of course, to provide them opportunities to fleece our nation as they did before. Go away indeed. Leavenworth has room. You can join the service members who are locked up there for carrying out your orders.
