I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Meghan McCain, serving as a co-host of "The View" today, wasted little time before getting in a shot at former Vice President Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. McCain, who had previously written about how she found Karl Rove following her on Twitter "creepy," complained that Cheney and Rove are still trying to be seen as the face of the Republican Party. Last week McCain observed that the GOP leadership is "scared shitless" of the changing political landscape.

McCain mentioned disapprovingly Cheney's repeated public criticisms of Obama--which he voiced again on Fox News this week--and referred to the DNC ad released this week portraying Cheney, Rove and Gingrich as the 'new face of the GOP.' She pointed out that it's "very unprecedented for someone like Karl Rove or Dick Cheney to be criticizing the President." Her advice to them: "Go away."

Good for Meaghan for speaking up. The Republican party would do well to listen to what the younger people have to say. Peopleno of both parties are much more tolerant of each others quirks and foblies. The Republicans still want to run around and slay the "Evil Dragons" that they see in everything and everybody

If you go on like that, Meghan, you'll end up on the 2012 ticket like your dad. To avoid this, feel free to join us "Communists". ;-)

Meghan the republican game has strict rules - and you're not playing according to their rules.
Something has got to give.

Meghan is smart. She knows the image of the "angry old white men" as the gatekeepers of the Republican Party has the effect of driving the youth away and repelling fresh ideas commensurate with the new political paradigm shift.
The Republicans will see in time that their malice towards the new president has only secured him stronger public support .
Keep it up guys; your malice is like a boomerang. In the end it comes right back to you.

Meghan McCain.. why do you even bother calling yourself a Republican? It's so obvious you don't like the party. And don't insult my intelligence by saying you're a Maverick like your dad. Meghan, just leave the party and stop trying to say you represent young Republicans. You represent nothing.

Are you implying that, because she disagrees with Cheney and Rove, she isn't a true conservative? Apples and oranges...A LOT of Republicans wish Cheney and Rove would go away - after all, if's because of them that the party is in the state of disarray that it's in today. They brought down the party, and true conservatives are pi$$ed.

You're funny. There was a time in this country when the Republican Party represented more than just the corporate elites. When you say she represents "nothing" that is apparently the view you have of any conservative who doesn't fall into the GOP's corporate wing.

Meghan wants her party to change overnight. It won't happen because in the absence of real leadership, the old guard has to step up. She's going to have to wait a long, long time for Rove/Cheney to stop giving their opinions to Fox. (And as a democrat, I am fine with it.)

She's a wise young lady. I disagree with her on many things but she speaks the truth on this issue.

So refreshing to find myself in agreement with a Republican, a voice of reason. I'll be far more open to what she has to say in the future.

What makes me crazy about Megan and her Republican ilk...she is against torture because her father was tortured?? How big of her...
I would bet anything neither of them would be against it purely because it is an affront to humanity and decency , rather they have taken the stance because it adversely impacted their lives. The same with Nancy Reagan suddenly pushing for stem cell research...selfish, singular thinking is their trademark. I don't buy it for a second...

The GOP would do well to listen to Meghan McCain, as so many others have said, "she gets it". (Is it possible she's a secret democrat?) Too bad they won't any time soon.

Rove/Cheney do need to "go away" and write those books they've been commissioned to write.

They stole their eight years, hence they feel that they do not have to go away. They (Cheney, Rove et al) have never had any regard for the nation or the people, it was all about them and how much power they could obtain. They will never willingly give it up, no matter how little power or how pathetic it makes them look.
