Everyone has an opinion; some of these are awfully harsh but so understandable. Don't you think someone from either family may read them? What about the departed girl's family? They are filled with so much grief now. As far as this Markoff idiot, let the cops do their job & find out if he is the murderer, and they will. Let the families mend-they won't; be kinder with your comments; for what goes around always comes around. I sit and wonder why this kid, who appeared to have it all, with so much more ahead of him, why would he commit such heinous acts? He had the looks, education, a great career becoming a doctor, marriage, a family, why would he throw it all away? It just doesn't add up, but if he has a dark side, it does. What a shame, a terrible, horrific shame. From all accounts read, it does appear to be true he is the murderer. As sick as he is, he is where he belongs so no one else will suffer at the end of his gun or hands. He has caused too much pain for so many. It's a pity. Some things in this life just don't ever make any sense.
look people. read the collected evidence. do your homework before you make any comments. i work in mental health in the prison system. no one, but no one would try to commit suicide if innocent. shoe lace marks around his neck? if thats truly the case, we have to ask ourselves, why would an innocent man try to injure himself when he has so much to loose? or, would a guilty man try to injure himself because he knows how much he is going to loose! it dosen't take a rocket scientist to see the writing on the wall. Put your self in his shoes. how would you react? if you were guilty? if you were innocent?
You just need to learn to save your comments until after justice has had it's day in court. Right now it is all speculation until it is brought before a judge a verdict is rendered. So relax and quit thinking you know so much.
Hmm...not sure I buy the "attempted suicide" story. Sounds like a defense strategy...a rancid ploy for future lienency. I mean, he's a med student, he should know how to kill himself. Why not puncture a vein with the tip of the shoelace?
Just like a bully, when called out they always try to play the victim. Not that there was any doubt but, what a coward.
I think that regardless of how the evidence appears on this man, don't hang him just yet. Many people have before been later proven innocent despite everybody from the police to the public 'knowing' that the suspect was guilty from the huge amount of 'evidence'!
Whoever carried out this crime, I do not believe for one second that the primary motive was robbery. If it is true that the motive was money then why did the killer take the victims underwear with him? It seems more like these attacks were planned to see how far he could terrorise these women, each time upping his game, the money was a reward.
I think this was done for the pleasure of inflicting violence and for the sense of power he had over them. If this suspect is indeed the right person he has been stopped before graduating to a stage where he felt comfortable enough to kill women without fear - he would have become more controlled in his violence, not panicking and shooting them but torturing them for hours instead and would probably have ended up like Ted Bundy. (If he had enough of a brain not to leave a trail of evidence which thankfully does not seem to be the case.)
Look at his mouth. He looks just like a young George W. Bush.
Oh, IF ONLY someone had handed HIM some shoelaces 40 years ago!
At college, he was a member of the College Republicans and was fairly unremarkable except for the occasional offensive comment, said ex-classmate Joe Coe.

Typical.
W was "fairly unremarkable" at college, too. And, he made some frequent offensive comments. Sounds like two of a kind.
This man needs to face trial and, if guilty (which is all but certain if the evidence is solid), punished accordingly. Suicide is far too easy a "way out" and isn't justice.
Also, Markoff is apparently not the brightest bulb, to say the least. He left a virtual and physical trail that a blind man could find.
I know - unbelievable, isn't it? Whoever set it up has an obvious dislike of MSNBC. Probably one of Markoff's fellow College Republicans . . .
For purposes of full disclosure, he should be nicknamed the "Craigslist / Panty Sniffer Murder Suspect."
From what I heard this morning on the radio, it sounds like they have this kid dead-to-rights!
Kudos to the Boston Police Dept. and their investigative staff!
I heard that too. It seems he was kinda arrogant in thinking he couldn't be caught. Seems the women probably saved their emails and they found the stuff on his computer too. I always save stuff for exactly that reason. If I meet someone from some electronic introduction, records (phone, email, etc.) will leave a trail.
