Joan Rivers Goes Mama Bear Defending Melissa

NEW YORK — Think twice before crossing Melissa Rivers _ her mother might just step in and chew you out.

Joan Rivers unleashed an earful of insults after Donald Trump fired her daughter on "The Celebrity Apprentice."

Rivers' targets: poker champ Annie Duke and Playboy pinup Brande (BRAND-ee) Roderick.

Melissa Rivers, who appeared with her mom on the NBC show, claimed the two formed an alliance against her. She called them "pit vipers."

Joan Rivers launched into mama-bear mode, calling Roderick a "stupid blonde" and Duke a "white trash" poker player. She called the duo "a Nazi and a follower."

NBC representative Amanda Ruisi didn't immediately return phone and e-mail messages seeking comment. Donald Trump could not immediately be reached.

Watching these NARCISSISTIC celebrities on this stupid show has been my guilty television pleasure of 2009. I am so sorry, but this crap is fascinating.

There certainly was a silent conspiracy between Brandy and Annie, or at least they completely ignored Melissa, which we have ample proof of, which in turn would have annoyed anybody - regardless of age, motherhood or not... In fact, I found myself agreeing with Melissa, of it all bearing an uncanny resemblance to high school behavior, and I too would have been hurt by nog being included in ANYTHING.
Brandy is obviously not smart enough to see through Annie's manipulative ways, regardless of her own opinion of herself, and I for one would be shocked to see her in the finale. Rather, I believe it will be Annie and Joan(if she decides to come back to the show, that is), or Annie and Jesse.

BTW, why in the world was Melissa wearing one snow boot, and one regular(pump) shoe?!? Has she hurt her leg? Was it an "artistic statement"? Does she have a severely deformed leg? What was that?!? ;o)

That being said, I keep asking myself why I watch the show...it'­s getting all the more ridiculous!

Melissa isn't wearing "snowboot", she has on a theraputic walking boot for hurt tendons in her ankle and/or foot. I wore one for a foot fracture.

yeah, I felt sorry for Melissa, but after she FLIPPED OUT, she showed her immaturity and didn't belong on the game.

Indeed. But I also think that storming out like that, was her way to stop herself from crying in front of the camera(and the world), which I'm sure she did afterwards. You could feel it coming on all throughout the last episode, really, that she was getting to a point where she would in fact explode in anger and frustration.
But I agree that it might not have been a very classy, mature way of dealing with the situation, but we're all different, and we all act out in our own little ways. Some just happen to do so in front of a camera, whilst we have the luxury of not being exposed at our worst moments. ;o)

By no means to I consider Melissa a celebrity, however, Annie creepy manipulation is gross to watch for me.

God, wouldn't you just HATE to be Annie's husband (or child, if she has any?) - my whole instinct about her is a bit soul-less and would use anyone. Maybe it makes for a good poker player, but a rotten human being.
