Romney is obviously trying to shrink his ostentatious displays of wealth. He'll try to "scale down" anything that makes it appear he has lots of money. But, of course, he DOES have lots of money. And he made that money, not through honest labor, but by "deal making" and shuffling around numbers.
What kind of person can afford to spend around $40 MILLION of his own money on a run for office? Doesn't sound like an average "well-off" guy to me: Sounds more like an ultra-wealthy elitist, out of touch with average, middle class and working class families.

I've always liked Romney and would love to see him become President one day. I don't see anyone in the Republican Party right now that stands out other than Romney. However, Romney should hold off running until Obama leaves office in 2016!!!
Why would you like Romney? Are you partial towards people who change almost all of their positions when they're running for national office, instead of just within Massachusetts?

I think romney is positioning himself for 2012 thats why he is selling his houses its so pitful to see these people pretending to be good down to earth people they are not period

So if this house sells, he'll have roughly 8.5 million toward his campain for President. He knows McCain has six houses, and that didn't go over too well. I don't think his profit of 8.5 million will make him any more in touch with the people. Out here, people are unemployed and living by the skin of their teeth. Romney's downsizing is very UNimpressive. He can never be a man of the people -- only a man of rich people.
When Obama's popularity numbers are in the 60's come 20011 ole mittens will not run for prez. I, frankly, don't think Mittens stands a chance. He doesn't even have a job now. By the time he wants to run he'll have been out of public service for 8 years
No one is going to want to run against O. Lets be honest here, O is going to raise a billion dollars and crush anyone who comes for him. Biden is not running for prez, the smart move would be to save your money now and run in 2016. But if Mitt wants to run, bring it on.
