Patel's mother Anita has confirmed to a British newspaper that the pair are very much a couple.
"First it was the film and now everything else seems to have slotted into place," Mrs. Patel is quoted as saying in Monday's Daily Mirror.
"Life can't get any better for him. Freida is really beautiful, and I am really happy for them."

Why on earth is this woman confirming or denying her son's dating habits? My god, this celebrity culture is horrific.

Hallooo, did anyone read "Q&A" ?? If you haven't you should. Then maybe some of all the loose ends begin to come together. It was a nice film, but did not deserve an academy award. Just goes to show where the Academy's preferences are and that talent has little to do with their decisions. Mama Mia was by far a better film and did not even get a mention.
They asked them that at the Oscars and she sure didn't sound like she was dating him or was interested in dating. Maybe she is that good of an actress! If so, who can blame them for keeping things under wraps. She sure is beautiful -- and they were both great in the movie.
She can't even act. I hope the hype dies out.

ugh. that's horribly cute. I hope that their real life selves have had more motivation to fall in love than their characters did in the movie.
