Swine Flu Travel Warnings: Europeans Urged To Avoid Mexico, US Amidst Outbreak

The EU's health commissioner today urged Europeans to postpone non-essential travel to Mexico and the US, as the death toll from the virus in Mexico rose to more than 100 and the first European case was confirmed in Spain.

"On Sunday, the state government of Veracruz confirmed swine influenza in a five-year-old girl in the village of La Gloria, located near a massive US-owned hog facility. The bodies of two other village children who died in February and March will be exhumed and tested for signs of the illness, local media reports said.

And in the western state of Guerrero, 500 pigs were just killed after becoming ill with swine flu."

I only got this far before thinking how eating these animal products have displaced the small farmers in these areas and has the markings of making a world wide flu epidemic. SHAME TO CORPORATIONS, if you own stock, SELL IT because blood is on the hands of all that benefit from these dysfunctional phantom wealth breeding grounds.

What is the probability that one will get the swine flu?
This move by the European Union is a swipe at US tourist industry. We have already pissed off many countries with our new Visa policies. A lot of countries are retaliating against the US because of Bushes hard line against foreign visitors.
We are destroying a large source off revenue which means jobs in this country because of our attitude toward foreign visitors.
The spiral downward continues.

36,000 people died in the US of seasonal flu infections last year. Less than 100 have died of this swine flu so far. There are vaccines for the flu and drug treatments for those that get the flu.
