Obama Best Moments Abroad

The Atlantic:

Still, as I've checked news sites and watched TV reports from around the world, I've been struck by the cumulating success of the Obama launch. Here are the moments that I think have mattered outside the United States even more than they did inside. The list starts with the one I consider most important and works down, but you could put them in pretty much any order you want. The point about them collectively is the emerging message they send about the way this president views America's place in the world.

The man has had many great moments abroad. He's already done a lot to repair our image. I like his tone and friendliness with Hugo Chavez, his speech in Germany and his calor humano in Mexico. It must be strange for foreign leaders to deal with someone so polite and educated as Obama after eight years of the idiot.

Hopefully he'll resign and go abroad. We can only hope.

Presidents of the U.S. rarely have family members with pristine lives I would vehemently protect my personal life, as it is mine to succeed or fail. Furthermore, This President has such a fractionated family of not just American siblings but, African family members, his maternal sister is married to a Chinese-Canadian, she is Indonesian-American living in Hawaii. George Obama is living like others in his neighborhood and his dreams are not paralleled to his half brother’s endeavors.

The juxtaposition here is flawed. I see no relevance in profiling the siblings of any President as no family growing up intact or fragmented has 100% successful and or prosperous members. Actually, we have seen what can happen when a family has more than one member elected to the White House, need anyone say more.

I think getting down on his knees to the King belongs on this list.

Molly,
You saw a snap shot of a moment frozen for right winged zealots to salivate over. Don't you think that our president decided this gesture over "holding-hands" like little school children" was more dipomatic? Why do people like you have to exaggerate to make a point?
I saw the same photos that you did... no one was "on their knees."

Besides, if this "gesture" will help my son, 6 nephews and 3 nieces return home safely, I say- THANK-YOU MR. PRESIDENT.

It would be nice if you people would just "grow up "!

It is sad, but somewhat funny to see how the "Party of No" reacts to any little thing our president does. Since President Obama won, they complain about his smile, how he shows affection to his wife, how he ties his shoes - any little thing. They just don't get it. We had an election, it is over - now is the time to unite. They rather see Obama and the democrats fail, than see the United States succeed.

That is why people are leaving the "Party of No" to the "Party of Change"!

You surely need to get on your knees and pray!

Molly,
You obviously failed anatomy 101 class; a bow from the waist is a different movement than kneeling. Now I know why the GOP followers are so dense, they suffer from a severe lack of knowledge beyond the nose on their face(s).

After reading a number of your posts, I would strongly suggest that you contact Michelle Bachman and see if the two of you can get a discount if you go together to get the intensive therapy you need.

I think the speech before the Turkish Parliament belongs on this list. It is difficult to overstate the enormous difference that speech made in public opinion in that very important nato ally country.

You know what.... after daily horror, pain, and anguish for eight endless years, every day under Obama's watch is pure, unadulterated euphoria. Let the armchair QB's and whining critics be d*amned

Very interesting and thought-provoking. However, I believe that Khrushchev's first name was Nikita, not Nikola.

I work in the international arena, so I'm fortunate that I get to hear from those around the world they're view on the US and POTUS. It is amazing how rapid the views have changed since Obama took office. I expected this type of change maybe after he had been in office a year, not 100 days. The future will tell its on story, but the past 100 days can't be denied, President Obama has made major changes during a rough period in this country. Thank you for taking the time and sharing an outsiders view.

I've done charity work that crossed me over into the UN HQ on a pretty regular basis. I can concur on this - it's like the world knew that America could be a very positive force if the previous regime and its allies could be marginalized.
