Sarah Jessica Parker And Matthew Broderick TWINS: Surrogate Girls On The Way

LOS ANGELES — Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick will be taking on new roles: parents of twin girls.

The "Sex and the City" star and her actor-husband are expecting twins through a surrogate pregnancy, representatives for the couple said Tuesday.

Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, "are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed," said a statement from the publicists.

The couple has a 6-year-old son, James Wilkie Broderick, and will mark their 12th wedding anniversary next month.

Details about the surrogate or her pregnancy were unavailable, the publicists said.

Parker starred in the "Sex and the City" TV series and the hit movie of the same name. Broderick's credits include the films "Glory" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and the Broadway musical "The Producers."

Why not just adopt?? Pardon me if I sound judgmental, but there are so many children already out there needing a home. And they're famous, so adoption should be that much easier for them. Sorry if I think this surrogate thing is silly. If you can adopt, you should, otherwise why are you having a child? It's about more than passing on genes, right?

Even though it's a surrogate, she's probably carrying their genetic children. They had unsuccessful attempts to get pregnant after James so they took this route. Adoption in the U.S is a joke. Red tape and more red tape, even for minorities.

Doesn't surprise me that she's expecting twins. That's very common in older moms, especially when they have already had at least one child, and are tall and slender.

Why can't she carry the babies herself? I mean- finding the viable egs and sperm is the hard part at their age, not the carrying of the babies.

Maybe she's unable to carry babies. Perhaps her doctor advised her against carrying babies. I mean, I can think of a thousand other viable reasons....

The funny thing about celebrities is we don't really think about them until they pop up in a news item. It's not as though we're sitting down having coffee and all of a sudden we think...I haven't heard a word about SJP and Matthew lately. I wonder how they and Jr. are doing.
