Swine Flu

As more swine flu cases are reported, Mexico is fighting the claim that the disease started within its borders. The push back is becoming increasingly difficult, especially now that reports are surfacing that the possible source could be a Mexican four-year old named Edgar Hernandez Hernandez.

Mexico's Health Secretary said it was "risky" to blame Mexico for the outbreak:

Mexico, where the number of deaths believed caused by swine flu rose by 50 percent on Monday to 152, is suspected to be the center of the outbreak. But Mexican Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova late Monday said no one knows where the outbreak began, and implied it may have started in the U.S.

"I think it is very risky to say, or want to say, what the point of origin or dissemination of it is, given that there had already been cases reported in southern California and Texas," Cordova told a press conference.

Kudos to Huffington Post for keeping the name "swine flu," but I'm in disbelief at how many otherwise sane people have just unknowingly done the pork industry a big favor, by changing the name from swine flu to H1N1 or Mexico flu.
Do antibiotic-resistant staph, dead zones, animal cruelty, hydrogen sulfide poisoning, global warming, devastated local communities, unhealthy food, and possible NEW flu sequences, sound yummy to you? By all means, then, call the outbreak H1N1 and help ensure that Smithfield and co. can keep on doing business irresponsibly and producing these delicious global problems for us.
But if any of these documented consequences of industrial hog farming do not appeal to you, the best thing you can do right now is keep calling it swine flu, and keep these criminals responsible for their actions.

How is it possible that this flue started in the United States when so many who have traveled to Mexico lately have it? This leader is trying to 'pass the buck' ....

It doesn't matter where it started. What matters now is what to call it. Swine flu or Mexican flu or something else. What about the Mexican-Hot Dog Flu? Hot-tamale-and-pork flu is a weak possibility. My favorite because it is so deadly is Astalavista Piggy Flu.

Many of the cases of Americans being sick with this flu are due to the fact that THEY visited Mexico and brought the virus back with them. Some seem to think that all this is due to Mexicans crossing over into the US when the reality is that it is a two way street.

Why does it matter? It's a virus, a naturally occurring thing- the fact it may have originated in one country does not really mean anything. No country is at fault.

I believe it started in the United States. I also believe it was man-made and I hate conspiracy theories. Back in 2004 when there was the Avian flu in Asia they were afraid of it combining with the human flu so the CDC decided to combine the two for research. This flu is a combination of the swine flu, human flu and avian flu. Basically a human who already had the flu had to get the swine flu from a pig and the bird flu from a bird. I don't think so. When Dr. Gupta says we haven't seen this strain before he is telling the truth. What he is not saying is that this could be man-made because if he does there will be mayhem.

Also, Donald Rumsfeld owns 18 million in Roche which is the maker of Tamiflu. Here are my links for you to read this information:

You are correct. Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld created the virus in their secret lab in Crawford, Tx where they also made the explosives that blew up the Twin Towers and the levies in New Orleans.

"Despite company denials, a number of Mexican and U.S. news outlets are pointing to Virginia-based Smithfield Foods, the world's largest pig producer ($12 billion in annual sales), as a likely source of the deadly outbreak. Smithfield sells pork and operates massive hog-raising operations in 40 nations, including Perote, Mexico, in the state of Vera Cruz, where the outbreak originated....Factory farms, such as Smithfield, feed pigs massive amounts of antibiotics, resulting in swine incubating and spreading antibiotic-resistant germs."

Translation: factory farms are bad m'kay?

While I do agree that factory farms are the work of the devil and the former VP (same difference) antibiotics have nothing to do with viruses, antibiotics are used against bacteria, germs is a child's word to mean all microorganisms, please don't use it, misinformation is very very dangerous.
