Generals Freed After Serving Four Years In Assassination Of Lebanese Prime Minister

They're out. The four top men blamed for the murder of the Lebanese ex-prime minister Rafiq Hariri in the Saint Valentine's Day massacre four years ago have been freed from their drab prison at Roumieh north of Beirut, amid a flurry of gunfire and fireworks. In Damascus -- their home from home if you believe what Mr Hariri's men tell you -- they must be drinking champagne.

What a horrible, horrible headline. They were illegellay detained without any evidence and the main witness in the case against them was found to be a fraud. They did not serve any time as they were found to be as guilty as any other person living in Lebanon, i.e. innocent.

No, they were not serving for the assasination of PM Harriri.

They were detained without charge for four years on suspicion that they might have had something to do with it.

The international tribunal has determined that there was no basis for holding them.

And so they were released.

Apparently, their major crime was holding a different view than that of our "brave" allies in Govt in Lebaonon.
