Obama, Caroline Kennedy Play In Oval Office (PHOTOS)

To mark the President's First 100 Days, the White House released a ton of behind the scenes photos taken by Pete Souza. Some of the photos have already been seen, but there is a huge amount that show the President goofing around, acting affectionate with his wife and children and holding late night meetings with aides. Buried in the amazing collection is a photo imbued with White House history. It shows President Obama playing in the Oval Office with Caroline Kennedy. Is the President pretending to be John Jr. when he played in his father's desk? Is he trying to figure out how John got into the desk? Check out the photos to see for yourself. Hannity is only one voice among millions of others. He gets paid to get ratings. He would say and do whatever he had to, to put the most $$$ possible into Rupert the Duperts coffers. Thus his credability is less meaninful and worth no more than a dime to a cup of coffee.

Gosh! I wish they would get rid of that horrible orange rug in the oval office...the cowboy art is quaint, but ick. I bet they could get a really good designer in for very little money and find some reasonably-priced items. I know it is not a number one issue on his list, but I would find it rather uncomfortable. I think that we should all donate to a new rug - I know that Bush spent an obscene amount of money on this rug- was it over $80,000?- but it has go-it is ugly.
It is great to see Caroline with the President - I was a big fan of JFK and now of President Obama- this just seems so right.

Souza explained that Obama was looking at the desk in order to determine whether the panel could be opened, as it seemed to open for the John-John photo. They were not playing, and it is the suggestion, itself, that is creepy.

Obama has a deep and abiding respect for JFK.. Caroline Kennedy gave her personal endorsement to Obama in the 2008 presidential primary .... "A President Like My Father."

Obama has stated that Caroline is one of his dearest friends. I personally love the fact that Caroline Kennedy gave her support to Obama at a crucial moment in the primary, and followed through with serious campaign work leading up to the presidential election.

Hmmm... I really disagree with the Guytar's post. When I read that they were "playing" and that Obama was "channeling" JFK, I thought it was odd, too, and thought there must be something else going on. The explanation you (katermc) gave made made much more sense.

I am glad for the Kennedys' support, and love that Caroline and Obama seem to be close, and are sharing a playful moment, but the above blog made it seem like Obama may have been trying to recreate a photo of a JFK and his kids playing in the oval office, which would have been a little strange if it had been true (IMO)
