Poll: Bush Getting Even More Unpopular Out Of Office

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that former President Bush's popularity has dropped since he left office.

When he left office in January, 31 percent of American's viewed him positively. That number has now dropped to 26 percent.

President Barack Obama, meanwhile, is more popular than the past two presidents at this point during their first terms.

According to the poll, 61 percent approve of Obama's job -- that's compared with George W. Bush's 56 percent and Bill Clinton's 52 percent at this same juncture in their presidencies.

Also, 64 percent view Obama favorably versus 23 percent who see him in a negative light -- once again, higher than Bush's and Clinton's scores on this question.

Additionally, 64 percent of Americans also "feel more hopeful about the direction of the country with Obama in office," and a full 59 percent feel he has accomplished a "great deal" or a "fair amount."

I know it's Schadenfreude but I read the papers and the internet every day, lookiung for some evidence of Bush's awareness of his failure.

When Robert Draper profiled Bush in Dead Certain, the book the Bush administration hailed as being ther first work of history in progress, Bush ridiculed Clinton who, he said, would hang around places like the UN if he knew Bush wa going to be there, for a photo op with the current and former presidents. And he said he knew one thing. Once he got out of the oval office, he'd replenish the ol' coffers, as he put it, and do all kinds of other things, but you would nenver catch HIM roaming the halls of the UN waiting around like a groupie.

I just think that is so TYPICAL of the arrogance of this man, and that he has to face his comeuppance is just perfect. However, he has ensconced himself with his "ilk", the rich right wingers who make him feel just fine, in Dallas and elsewhere, and I don't think he ever really sees how much he is loathed and despised.

I do not think it is just GWBush & Cheney but the whole republican.t party. Name one republican who has owned up to the absolute mess their party left President Obama with just one. There isn't. All you hear from them is how Pres Obama is bankrupting the future of our children. There is no acknowledgement of what they did for 8 years that brought the world to its collective knees. Republicans are going to get what they deserve and that is a big fat nothing.
