A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that former President Bush's popularity has dropped since he left office.

When he left office in January, 31 percent of American's viewed him positively. That number has now dropped to 26 percent.

President Barack Obama, meanwhile, is more popular than the past two presidents at this point during their first terms.

According to the poll, 61 percent approve of Obama's job -- that's compared with George W. Bush's 56 percent and Bill Clinton's 52 percent at this same juncture in their presidencies.

Also, 64 percent view Obama favorably versus 23 percent who see him in a negative light -- once again, higher than Bush's and Clinton's scores on this question.

Additionally, 64 percent of Americans also "feel more hopeful about the direction of the country with Obama in office," and a full 59 percent feel he has accomplished a "great deal" or a "fair amount."

Thousands of US soldiers needlessly died to fulfill Bush's imperialistic agenda, and tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians died for the same reason.

He ruined our economy.

He ruined our international reputation by engaging in torture, pre-emptive unilateral warfare, childishly aggressive "diplomacy", reckless environmental policies, and warrantless wiretaps.

If only the Supreme Court had made the ethical choice in 2000. More Americans wanted Al Gore to be President. More Americans voted to keep the Democratic party in charge. Yet they put Bush in the White House. The man who won less votes. The man with less support.

Imagine if the American people had had their way. Imagine how much better off we'd be. Imagine how much better a foundation President Obama would now have to build off, instead of fixing all this neoconservative wreckage first.

Bush is a disgrace, and historians will judge him harshly.

It would be nice if 'dead-enders' who still support him could all be shipped to Texas .... then let the state secede.

So refreshing to get opinions from people who have ignorance in both politics AND economics. Tell us more, wise one.

Bush's numbers continue to drop since he left office???

No surprise there. As more and more Americans begin to realize the harm that man did to them, their children and generations to come, watch for his favorability to descend further into the crapper.

The failures ,and corruption, and inability to tell the american people the truth will forever cast a cloud over GW ,and it will haunt him till the day he dies. It wouldn't be a shocker if he countinued to pull stupid stunts, or commit himself. His legacy will only get worse as the truth comes out, unless you listen to Rush, Rove or some other lacky screwed up enough to believe their BS.

Clinton lying did not directly cause the death of anyone, or economic collapse. Bush's lies about why we go to war, and the need to deregulate the financial sector has brought this country to where it is now, the brink of economic collapse. This is what years of letting the markets regulate themselves have brought us. We do NOT have free markets when bankers can get one of their own appointed to the US Treasury to look out for their interests.

Yeah, I saw that and thought they couldn't possibly be talking about the first 100 days of Bush's first term - not after the real election being nullified by the Supreme Court.

Bush and Hamlet have something in common, they're both tragic features.

No, to be tragic, the character has to have some noble qualities which make his demise so sad and unfortunate.

Beyond his ability to dress and feed himself, I'm hard pressed to find any more of Bush's "finer" qualities.

The more honest members of Bush's own party now hate him as they begin to realize the full extent their boy did to their political fortunes.
