I wish Chelsea Clinton happiness and the very best life has to offer. That said, I cannot look at her fiancee without taking into account his background. Here are some basic facts about him:

1. His father is former congressman and convicted felon Ed Mezvinsky who served time for white-collar crimes (notably fraud).
2. He is an investment banker and he works (or worked) for Goldman Sachs.
3. His family was connected with the Clintons for years (what does that say about the Clinton connections?).

I wish them both luck. It is hard enough to marry and STAY married these days, let alone do it in the public square. I wish them every success and a great life!

Chelsea deserves some good stuff in her life like this. She has been a dignified person in a zoo atmosphere. I still remember when she was 13 and Rush Limbaugh said (on his short lived TV show) that the White House didn't need a dog as they already had one and then held up a picture of her. The lack of drama in her life shows that no matter what else was going on, she was raised by people who love her very much. She is a very stable ex-occupant of the White House. Unlike some children of privilege such as GW Bush she hasn't indulged in drug use and other socially unacceptable behaviour. Instead she is out in the world working for the greater good. I hope her life continues to go well.
