DNC Mocks Steele's "Strategic" Achievements In New Ad (VIDEO

RNC Chairman Michael Steele'sinsistence that everything he does is part of his big strategy to lead the GOP is back to haunt him (again) in a new video from the Democratic National Committee. The spot juxtaposes Steele's comments with the party's recent loss in a New York special election, the defection of Arlen Specter to the Democrats, and the imminent swearing-in of Democrat Al Franken in the Senate.

I do agree with your larger point. Engaging people like Steele makes them look somewhat petty. Especially since the repubs are doing everything in their power to destroy themselves. Best strategy might be to get out of the way and let them tear themselves to pieces

This argument never makes much sense because for every ridiculous thing Joe Biden might say, he has a dozen other well considered thoughts. There is an actual functioning brain there, which seems to be more than what Michael Steele has going. The left isn't mocking him only for his nonsensical statements but for his entire lack of relevance. I don't know, maybe he is actually raising lots of money for the RNC and putting those Republican candidates in place for 2010, but so far all we've seen is someone who doesn't really know what he's saying.

I guess we should commend Steele for using the word "strategic", even if it's clear he doesn't know what it means. He doesn't back up the word with meat. What IS the GOP strategy? I heard this week that they don't want to call it "rebranding" because that's too shallow. But it's only shallow if they don't put forth IDEAS. Right now they deserve the epithet, "The Party of 'No' " because, apart from lower taxes, they have nothing to say...unless it's divisive, racist or xenophobic.

And if Steele is looking for good candidates, then he needs to get Foxx, Bachmann, Perry, Jindal and Inhofe to give up their respective seats so they can grow instead of shrink the party.
