Steele Agrees Obama "Is The Magic Negro"

While hosting Bill Bennett's radio show Friday morning, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele appeared to agree with a caller that President Obama is "the magic Negro."

CALLER: It's just like the LA Times said last year, or two years ago -- he is the magic Negro.

STEELE: Yeah he is -- [laughter]. You read that too, huh?

CALLER: Oh yeah. I read that too. And even when things go wrong, he still manages to come out smelling like a rose.

STEELE: Well, yeah. And it's because he's getting unprecedented coverage -- cover -- by the media.

Steele's amused reaction is somewhat surprising. When former RNC chairman Chip Saltsman released a CD including a parody song "Barack The Magic Negro" in January -- inspired by the same LA Times article -- Steele said it "doesn't help at all ... it reinforces a negative stereotype of the party." Saltsman withdrew from the race to remain chairman in the wake of the scandal.

Michael Steele is puppet on a string for the RNC. It's just too bad that he either does not recognize it or is to ambitious and willing to sell himself no matter what the cause! Surely, his position in the RNC will come back to haunt him because as soon as their purpose for him has been satisfied, they will abuse his loyalty to them. It is just so very sad to see him make such a fool of hiimself. I am certain that his fellow colleagues are laughing loudly at him, behind his back--maybe even to his face since he is so easlily manipulated and influenced by a party who cares absolutely nothing about him, only trying to use him to turn the popular majority against President Obama. However, it will never happen--the public is much smarter than the RNC or Michael Steele and will never drink the kool-aid.

I am a Black American, Michael Steele is not. WTF? Please, let him keep it up. I can not wait until he enters his first Black community looking for republican votes. He will enter at his own risk. Steele is an example of the "crabs in a barrel" mentality that some blacks in America have. He cannot stand that a birracial man, who considers himself blcak as he is married to a black woman and has black children, and who is a Democrat, came out of nowhere to become the first black President of the US. and because of that, he (Steele) wants to drag President Obama back to bottom of the barrel where he currently is.

I really wanted to like Steele and really wanted him to suceed, knowing how blacks have been treated by the Republicans in recent years. Now I really want him to go away and he accepts, I will pay for a party to make sure he does go away.
