It is simple, when Palin was just the Gov of Alaska, nobody knew, nor cared what she said, did etc. The people of Alaska 'assumed' she was cleaning up because she 'promised' to do just that hence the reason they voted her into office. When she hit the national stage and had to deal with the hard hitting mainstream media who leaves no stone unturned, now, the people of Alaska are starting to question---which they have a right to do. The quickest way to have your secrets exposed is to come off holier than thou. Questionable things were going on all the time but people believed that she was honest---now they know better. I bet she will not win a re-election for governor in 2010.
The more she is hated, the more I know that she has my vote. Hated by the dems and rinos is a great sign for me.

The result of SPs national exposure during the national elections it that, well, it exposed her. The lying, the spending, the cronyism, her admin's secrecy, her lack of intellect, her lack of education, her inability to keep her teen daughter from becoming pregnant.
Her popularity is fueled by her far-right "beliefs", her looks, and her ability to deliver a speech (as long as she doesn't have to write it).
Palin is a give that keep on given. Even her GOP leaders are giving her a cold shoulder.

There is no doubt that some of the complaints against her are purely political in nature and not rooted in anything unethical or illegal. However, I do not feel sorry for Palin. She chose to be a part of a campaign that launched personal attacks against Obama relentlessly. I did not hear one coherent policy argument from Palin during the entire campaign. So now she has to defend herself against poltically inspired, warrantless charges. If she continues to play the victim, "unemployed bloggers sitting in their parent's basement attacking me" she will make herself look even more ridiculous. Can anyone imagine the hero of the right - Ronald Reagan - getting bogged down by the issues that in which Palin entangles herself?
What you say is true, but if you go back and follow as Palin first came on the scene..the attacks against her stared immediately. It was disgusting.
When the left witnessed the new energy she brought to the GOP the attacks became formidable with many being over the top and unsubstantiated. Even attaching her special needs child!
She was made a victim first and it continues.
However, I agree she she just needs to set back and ignore it.

Honestly, I remember it was Reagan who grew the size of the federal government and ran up huge debt. It was then on George Bush Senior's watch that the S and L's failed and the market crashed and the economy went in to recession. Honestly, it was a Democrat, Bill Clinton, who then gave us 8 years of peace and prosperity. He reformed welfare, signed Family and Medical Leave Act, expanded the student loan programs, created 20 million jobs, reduced the size of federal government and handed W a surplus.
Of course once the repubs were back in office the era of big government was back. Bush gave us record debt, record increase in the size of the fed govt and massive unemployment. We won't even mention the bank failures, recession, market crashes, and nationalizing of AIG, investment banks and Fanny and Freddy.
Americans have been conditioned against the word "socialism", but in reality, they like and want a more socialistic lifestyle. Uncontrolled capitalism has greatly harmed most Americans. And enriched only a few criminals.
I agree!! Send back your social security checks, medicare, disaster aid, aid to all levels of edudcation. Just to name a few programs we waste our money on.
I wonder when members of her family, as well as the Johnstons, will file their own complaints. Through no fault or their own several of them have been dragged through the mud while the diva of Alaska "progresses" down her nasty path.

If you can't win against a Conservative in the arena of ideas, just administer the death of a thousand tiny cuts by way of "ethics complaints." Any bit of objective research will prove that those filing the complaints have more skeletons in their closet than the individual they're pursuing. Sarah Palin will be major player on the political stage in the future. I don't believe it will be as Presidential nominee in 2012, but she'll be a player. She's pretty, smart, and strongly conservative. The left didn't succeed in knocking her down in 2008. (John McCain lost that election because he was an awful candidate.) YOu do not win elections by elctrifying your base. You win by the number of Independents one gets, and she did not help there at all.
This is precisely how Sarah Palin won the Governorship of Alaska. Alaska has a relatively high proportion of middle-of-the-road Independent voters (43% according to Daily Kos, Dec2008). While many of her critics are obviously on the extreme Left, her really bitter opponents are on the republican Right, In practice, Governor Palin has governed pragmatically from the centre, avoiding the 'crony capitalism' of the Right and the 'corporatism/socialism' of the liberals.
smart? you really think she's smart? She went to 5 second and third rate schools to get a BACHELORS degree. She thinks questions that ask about her reading materials are hard. She can't seem to make cohesive sentences, she doesn't make a lot of sense when she talks. She doesn't seem to care that he kids are dropping out of high school.

She's not a 'Conservative' in the true sense of the word. She wants to impose her extremist religious beliefs on the country. That might be part of the neocon/Rapture-ready Republican agenda, but it's in no way true Conservatism.

Third, no one is worried?!? She's an absolute loon who has no chance of winning except for the southern states.
