Some people in our neighbourhood already have a good start on this. At one house the arbour over the front sidewalk is used for scarlet runner beans instead of climbing roses or ivy. Another house had beans and peas running up the chainlink fence. Another has parsley and other herbs to set off the flowers on the front border. My favourite, though, was the border along the front walk and driveway planted to zucchini and cucumbers.

I've got herbs in the flower garden and a raspberry patch and apple tree in the back yard, plus a saskatoon bush which has failed to thrive for some reason.
