Palin Stimulus Money

McClatchy:

Alaska legislators argue Gov. Sarah Palin is overstating the strings attached to federal stimulus money she's planning to reject. But Palin isn't backing down and said she still won't take the $28.6 million for energy programs.

Follow stimulus spending in your state!

It isnt the job of our government to bail out any state with our tax monies
I give Palin all the credit in the world.
every state should have a govenor as responsiple as Palin
In AZ we have Jan Brewer.....used to have Napalotano....Tax and spend Dems
These dem Governors do nothing more than ruin their states.
I wished AZ could get a Palin at least she would work with Sheriff Joe instead of against
him as our Dem Gov's do, Turning youur states into illegal scantuarys

Of course, Palin doesn't want to take that last bit of money on the table because ..... it would be just a total tragedy if Alaska had to have an updated energy code and had money for weatherization of homes. Boy, Alaskans just don't know what a FAVOR Palin is doing for them.

After her antics earlier with appointing a non-Democrat for the Juneau seat, plus all her histronics about the stimulus package, her popularity rating dropped 5 points in 10 days. How low can she go?

Give credit to Palin: she was early in the string of GOP governors grand-standing over rejecting stimulus dollars. She didn't like the "strings attached" by the Feds. You know, accountability, etc. The fact that her state is awash in social problems like domestic abuse and alcoholism, has high unemployment, and scores really low in educational achievement apparently doesn't faze her. Good ol'Alaskan independent spirit will pull them through the 21st century...with a little help from D.C. pork, less 'fatty' than when Ted Stevens was ensconced in the senate, but good eatin' nevertheless.

What a hypocrite. She grandstanded on rejecting stimulus monies, met a LOT of opposition from BOTH parties in the legislature and is finally in dialog to resolve the mess she created for political expedience. The 2009 legislative session is over, but the problems in AK linger on. That's what happens when the mayor of a 7K horse town becomes governor of a 700K-person state -- The Peter Principle.

Good thing Palin's against "socialism" too...though that Alaska Permanent Fund is kind of socialist. After all, it pays a 'dividend' to all Alaskan residents annually, based on payments from the oil companies...and keeps her popularity ratings up.

You know, sippe, you and I are well aware of the peter principle, but Moosejuice Palin thinks that something her daughter messed around with when she was practicing abstinence. Good post, though.

I just dont get it. Just because the state gov refuses the money doesnt mean the tax payers wont have to repay the bailouts the federal gov is doing. All of the tax paying public will be paying for these bailout and stimulus funds. Doesnt matter if they use it or not, the feds will spend it somewhere else, and the tax payers for decades will still have to repay it all. So why not get some use out of your line of credit from the feds?

Hey Alaska try a little something called Impeachment. It's not like you have anything else to do up there.

Gotta love her. There's nothing quite as delightful as someone on the other side who does half of your work for you. As long as Sarah keeps putting her foot in it, we don't have to work so hard to explain our point of view

Watch Sarah Palin eat crow over this dispute. I don't know if crow is as tasty as moose.

I think that you don't have to field dress a crow.

I believe Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann are related. Same right-wing zealotry and empty-headed prattle.

Not to mention the absolute total belief that God wants them to make fools of themselves in front of the entire country and world.
