Met Costume Institute Gala: The Worst-Dressed (PHOTOS)

At Monday night's "The Model As Muse: Embodying Fashion" Costume Institute Gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum, everyone took fashion risks. Some guests took bigger risks than others, and while we applaud the courage, a few ensembles fell flat.

Mary-Kate is the best of the worst on this list. I actually don't think her dress is that bad; when compared to the others.

I thought Deyn's dress was great, too.

This is a costume-y event, so no surprise that they look costume-y.

Madonna, however--sheesh. The aqua head-piece thing is so effing bizarre, I can't even fathom what the idea was behind it.

I'm not sure why Jessica Alba is on the worse dress list. Did you see the white catastrophe that one of the Olson twins was wearing?

I don't care for Alba's dress. That big lump of blue for the skirt is ugly (IMO).

I actually liked Olsen's white dress. It was different but not so much like the bag-lady attire she seems to prefer. Maybe I'm just relieved to see her in something that didn't look like she should be wearing while pushing a shopping-cart on skid row.

Oh, now I get what Madonna is trying to do. Just saw the story about the guy smuggling birds in his socks. Madonna's one-upping him and smuggling them in her hair. Didn't realize birds as accessories were so "in."

The "best-dressed" are all just as bad. When will these women learn to dress themselves, rather than take some designer's or stylist's word on what looks "fabulous" on them? Think for yourself, dress and accessorize yourself!

I don't get why Agyness Deyn is worse dressed. Her dress is fine. She is not that gorgeous, but that has nothing to do with dress. Also, the Olesen girls both look a little odd, I don't understand why one is on the best dressed and the other on the worse dressed list.

I thought her dress and jewelry were flawless, the hair and dark eyebrows were over the top but then again that's kind of the point of this gala. It's COSTUME.
