Bristol Palin's New York Abstinence Campaign (SLIDESHOW)

Bristol Palin hit the campaign trail in New York City Wednesday. But this time she didn't do it for her mother's political ambitions. Eighteen-year old Bristol is an ambassador for teen abstinence, despite the recent birth of her son Tripp in December. Tripp's father, Levi, has continued a war of words with the Palins. This morning he went on CBS The Early Show to comment on Bristol's campaign. Levi called it "unrealistic".

I believe Hayden was there for "National Teen Pregnancy Awareness Day" not the Abstinence only campaign.

I still remember when Bush Sr made Ahnuld Swartzenberger his President's Physical Fitness Program Head AFTER Arnie had been busted for Steroid use. Kinda like Jr's Clean Skys Act; to allow more pollution. Trying to make sense of this stuff makes my head hurt.

I just don't get this whole discussion about abstinence only. Sure it is the only 100% sure way to avoid pregnancy. But sex is part of being human (or animal). Our lives would be so incomplete if we only had sex to get pregnant.

High school is the last chance to teach the coming of age kids the things they need to know to live a happy and successful life. Lots of people are getting married later in life, are they supposed to wait until they are 32 to have sex? Get real, that would be such a loss of tender life experiences. And to avoid these experiences because one lacks knowledge on the other ways to avoid pregnancy and STDs when there are good ways to avoid those things, to me, borders on criminal.

What do you mean Bristol is not doing this for her mother's career. That is exactly why she is doing it. Palin has turned her into one of the pod people.

And now they are out parading her baby around for more sympathy and attention. As far as I'm concerned, they are all guilty of child abuse.

Wow, an actress who had a relationship with her 30 year old co-star when allegedly was 17/18 to 18/19 and a girl who had a baby and was a pawn for the GOP are now the poster children for abstinence? I can understand Bristol, but Hayden? Really? They might as well get Paris Hilton to be their spokesperson.

I think Bristol needs to sit down and work on getting her life together,not try to be in the spotlight. I wish the media types would leave her alone and I wish her media-hungry family would stop pursuing them.

Also, where are the minority representations? This is once again an issue where they need to expand past their normal way of thinking and look to other communities to talk about this matter.

Bristol does not strike me as someone trying to be in the spotlight. Her mother (and father) however? Most definitely. I know a bit about living in a home with a very strong, domineering mother. Bristol is in a bit of an untenable situation in that she is a single mom with a brand new baby, living in Sarah Palin's house. I imagine she needs to more or less do as she is told. I have a lot of empathy for the poor kid.
