Washington Post:

When John G. Roberts Jr. was nominated to the Supreme Court as chief justice, a pro-Republican group called Progress for America had $18 million in the bank.

Run by a lobbying firm with close ties to the Bush White House, the well-organized group had snatched up Internet domain names for dozens of potential court candidates, allowing it to launch a targeted Web site within minutes of the announcement. It went on to play a central role in winning confirmations for Roberts in 2005 and Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. in early 2006.

I would love to see the President have to nominate three Justices, and I would like them all to be fairly young. This would insure that the court is there to help the little man, not to justify what the President and politicians can or cannot do.

I understand that conservatives plan to be seated on traintracks in order to derail President Obama's selection of Supreme Court jurist. I can only hope that Rush, Beck, and the Manatee will be among them.

Admittedly there will be fewer conservatives when all this is over but couldn't they choose a less messy venue?

Disgraceful. this is the group that denied the Democrats even a right to consider a filabuster.

And a choice has not even been offered.

The GOP shows its true colors. They are a party to scorn.

What if the Obama team outFOXed their Republican naysayers by "leaking" their "consideration" of the name of a conservative constitutional lawyer? [gasp!] A REAL conservative, who has been highly critical of the Bush administration's arrogation of executive power, who openly called for Bush's and Cheney's impeachment, ridiculed the nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court and sharply criticized Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez? And yes, even criticized President Obama recently for being too soft on the architects of Bush administration torture policies?

No room here for details. You can find out more on my blog:

Obama is cold blooded. He is going to pretend to listen to the GOP and then he is going to nominate Sonia and dare the GOP to say something.

The Republican party is so hypocritical. They want to decide womens pregnancy, determine who can marry whom, decide when you die, but when its a Democrat on the bench that Democrat is "making policy and making the law."

Huffington´s Lawrence Odonnell filling in for Ed, just had a conversation with this Wheeler from the Republican CPAC whose whole issue is making policy. Mr. Odonnell tried to explain that whenever they make a decision it changes policy. Be continued steadfastly dogged in his talking points.

They are just a group of hypocrites using buzz words which they call a policy position. Who are these 20% that are Republican out there?

And for heaven´s sake MSNBC please stop putting that Ron Christie guy on, he has nothing to bring to the table, please I implore you.

Stupid Republicans, they want to reject a nominee for the Supreme Court before he or she is even named, how dumb is that.

Republicans opposed to Predident Obama nominee, whoever it may be.
That is a brilliant idea.
"Whatever you are for, I am against, because you are for it".
"I don't need to know who the nominee is, all I need to know is that they are YOUR nominee".
"We are out of power, give us what we want".
"Why don't you nominate John Yoo or Monica Goodling"?

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
No matter what it is or who commenced it, I'm against it!
Your proposition may be good
But let's have one thing understood:
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
And even when you've changed it or condensed it, I'm against it!
For months before my son was born
I used to yell from night till morn:
Whatever it is, I'm against it!
And I've kept yelling since I've first commenced it, I'm against it.

Yes I have. If Duh One went to a Church that preached the Gospel instead of "God @#$%! America!" then he would have heard about it, too.

I am an old, white woman. I have never been to Rev. Wright's church nor heard him speak other than the very carefully selected sound bites that could be twisted to suit the purposes of the people trying to damn President Obama when he was a candidate.
Churches that "preach the Gospel" so seldom follow that Gospel or anything even remotely resembling it that it would be funny if it weren't so terrible. With a lifetime of experience of what it is like to be poor, to go without, to be made fun of and bullied while the people who should have been doing something about this either looked the other way or laughed along with my tormentors, I too, can say with passion, GOD DAMN AMERICA! If you're not rich in this country, you're expendable and you just do not count.
