Michelle Obama's Sesame Street PSA: "You're Your Child's Best Role Model" (VIDEO)

This past Tuesday, Michelle Obama stopped by Sesame Street to tape a Public Service Announcement with everyone's favorite muppet, Elmo. The PSA, part of Sesame Workshop's Healthy Habits For Life initiative, encourages exercise and nutritious eating habits, and extols the importance of parents as healthy role models.

The First Lady explains:

"If you want your child to have healthy habits, practice healthy habits, too. Because you're your child's best role model."

Sesame Street is certainly making good use of Michelle Obama's influence; as Elmo himself says:

"Well, if Mrs. Obama wants to exercise, Elmo wants to exercise too! Yay exercise!!"

It's about time we have a First Lady that has priorities of every working mother in the country: God, family, children, education, and work. And she does it with natural class and dignity.

If Sesame Street is ever taken off the air due to funding issues, you can damn well bet I'll be marching on Washington for a bailout! Sesame Street is the reason that a ton of kids my age (22) actually have the slightest bit of intelligence, I'm willing to bet. I can already tell I'm gonna be donating to PBS a ton later on in life (though they do need to fix a few issues, but as far as Sesame Street is concerned, it's all good!).

The two old men from Sesame Street (I dont remember their names ) remind me of the ex VP.

They look like him..never smiling, always complaining and only happy for someone elses misfortune.

I'm a 60 YO white guy who's always loved this country, but never more so than the day we handed the keys to the White House to this beautiful family!

Thank you my brother feeling the way all Americans should feel about this family. They are a true example of what family is, no matter what the media try to protray AA families in an unkind light, I see these type of families everyday of my life. This is how my sister and her husband is, most of the members of my church. So thank you for looking pass their color and just see them as the great people they are.

What really trips me out is how so many people speak about her like they are rating her or reviewing a movie, like she wakes up every morning hoping for the approval of just anyone. I think she only cares about the approval of her mother, brother, husband, daughters and GOd.....and good for her. Jeesh, people are really full of their average selves.

Oh please...enough of the black woman stuff...and I am a black woman. People are watching and analyzing her every move for a myriad of reasons....By the way dollyfedup...given the history...being First Lady means she has already stepped out of her place a long time ago...probably about the time she considered going to an Ivy League school ...anybody who is thinking she has a place other than the one she currently occupies needs to get a life...
