MoveOn Targets Specter And Other Dems For Siding With Banks (VIDEO)

A series of new web ads by MoveOn.org targets Senate Democrats for stripping a provision from recently-passed bankruptcy reform legislation that would have allowed judges in certain circumstances to change the terms of a mortgage.

The biggest target among those Dems: Arlen Specter, the Pennsylvania turncoat. MoveOn says a new poll finds 85 percent of its Pennsylvania membership aren't charmed by Specter's party switch and might favor a primary challenger.

Six other Democrats are targeted in videos for their opposition to the provision, known as cramdown, which would have offered relief to certain homeowners in bankruptcy and in default on their mortgage. The measure failed after lobbying by the financial industry so intense that Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said of the upper chamber that banks "frankly own the place."

"Last week Senator Specter had a choice," says the ad targeting Specter. "Wall Street was trying to kill the president's proposal to help families facing foreclosure. Senator Specter could side with the banks or with Pennsylvania families..."

Each ad points out how much money the targeted Dem received from the financial industry.

That is what the poster said, on the right track to a more left leaning country because the country has always been left leaning when you look at 40 years of polls. Real polls that get at the truth about what people think. Some people think they are conservative BUT when you analyze their answers on many subjects, you find out that about 2/3rds of Americans are left leaning.
The government, media and corporations are center right and that is why the media always protects the myth that America is center right. It sort of works because some left leaning folks are actually brainwashed into believing they are center right.

Who is funding wemustchange? They don't list who the backers are.

I love MoveOn.Org­. I have the best sticker ever from them. It says "Yes, We Did!" I have that proudly smack dab in the middle of my back window. It doesn't go over too well here in Dallas, but who gives a flying you know what?

I have no problem donating to them monthly. These ads are great and worth every penny we give each month.

Nope. Even Durbin admits there'll be no other BK reform legislation. This was the third attempt and like the fist two, went down in flames thanks to the loyal Republicrats in the Senate.

The banks and fin. inst. won again, supported by the Senate - the American people lose, betrayed by them... again.

It was noted by MSNBC that the prez didn't make a lot of noise prior the vote in the senate on that bill. He made more noise on the campaign trail.
Timing is everthing. Remember how he had senators and members of congress
over to watch the superbowl. That was to help get his budget passed.
He even said that housing crisis was one of his priorities. It sure didn't sound
like it last week when the bill went down in flames. I think it was Gibbs who
said the WH still supports the bill but after it had crashed and burned. Timing.

The American people who have continued to pay their bills on time, working several jobs to do it if necessary, The American people who have taken personal responsibility for their bills & their lives WIN! Why should only those filing BK (which also costs those of us who don't), be allowed to have their loans written down when the rest of us have to struggle with our original loans.

It is simply amazing how Americans allow their representatives to take millions in political payoffs to vote against their interests in the legislature.
