I would hate to speculate on what goes on inside Netanyahoos mind .. . I suspect it is as dark, twisted and murky as cheney's
Bibi looks worried because he has finally come to the realization that in 50 years the non-Jewish citizens of Israel will be the majority and there's really not a damn thing he, or anyone else, can do about it.
Then of course, there is the not-so-small matter of the two-state solution. After three years of sanctions and the isolation of Hamas for its refusal to publicly endorse a two-state solution and accept Israel's right to exist, Israel now has a government with the same policy, but in reverse.
The Likud branch of the Israeli governmant and the radical, Jewish settlers of the West Bank are the embodiment of fervent, militant crusaders against equal rights. No greater evidence of Israel's messianic zeal exist than the fact that their very existence exemplifies an irrational belief in national and ethnic superiority.
Their belief that G-d gives them the right to murder and torture and starve and imprison millions of Palestinians in order to occupy and destroy their land typifies a messianic cult more so than any other entity in the region.
Now that Netanyahu has painted his county into a far-right corner he and the civilized world should be worried.
Haaretz is the Israeli Left's version of Fox News designed to feed alleged facts to the UK press which then runs it as genuine fact and within a day the lie is trapped in the Left's echo chamber.
He need to be worried, he was hoping that John McCain was going to be President and go to war again Iran with him now President Obama won't give him that much help.
I fear he will do it himself, and then expect the US to jump in and support him. And we probably will.
Ahhh Haaretz, Israel's equivalent of the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Seattle Post Intelligencer. I would not take their editorials too seriously.
Another load of nonsense.
At least Haaretz offers a little balance.
We know you prefer completely polarized news...and it shows in your every comment.
He has nothing of substance to worry about from the USA. A few apparently critical words can be easily brushed aside.
His real worries are about keeping his coalition government together back home - which is the worry of all Israeli PMs given the fragmented nature of domestic politics.
Not as worried as he will be if he attacks Iran. He is likely to have a whole lot of bad days following such a foolish decision.
