White House Correspondents' Dinner: Wanda Sykes Knocks Sarah Palin Over Abstinence

Wanda Sykes, the featured entertainer at tonight's White House Correspondents' Dinner, aimed one of her dirtier jokes at Governor Sarah Palin. Sykes noted that Palin had been scheduled to appear but then pulled out at the last minute. Sykes then remarked: "Somebody should tell her that's not really how you practice abstinence."

It was demeaning the first African American President, you'd think she'd want to show some respect and make him proud instead Pres Obama was forced to give token smiles of assent to her tasteless humor. it sure isn't anything she has to worry about is it....

Abstinence has no reason to be in her vocabulary since she certainly won't
have to worry about getting pregnant by accident....will she.

In response to StayAlert- if you do not believe that the press(AP,WSJ etc) said that it was a new low then why is the WH distancing themselves from Wanda?? Can you answer that?? I did not think so. Wanda was funny, she is racy and the WH Press Corp committee knew this when they invited her. Wanda does not care about the repurgs and she knew they would be angry at what she said. She purposely is taking the repurgs on because this will help her career and not hurt her. Wanda said what many Americans couldn't say or allow themselves to say.
Wanda calculated if they spend a week talking about me maybe, they will leave the President along for a week.

I find the very notion of getting "under the skin" of low-life like Sykes revolting. It's a place I don't want to be.
"Low-life" is a state of mind, not an economic class or race. And Sykes is clearly low-life; the gutter is where she lives, and I don't care how rich she gets off the money of the dopes who interpret her cheap line as "wit", or what kind of mansion she buys herself, she will always be living in the gutter, the gutter that spewed from her mouth at the Washington dinner. This was the first, hopefully the last, time I ever saw or heard her. She's an inconsequential blot on the page of history. Can you imagine anyone citing the "wit and wisdom of Wanda Sykes" a hundred years from now? Now THAT'S funny!
