Columnist: Bristol Palin Should Stop Promoting Abstinence

There are plenty of celebrities and politicians who make bad decisions as parents but take a public position that they are actually role models. The latest and perhaps most unfortunate example is Bristol Palin, the mother of a 4-month-old boy who is now taking on the role of spokeswoman to prevent teen pregnancy.

This could possibly be the worst spoke person for promoting abstinence!! She lives at home for free, does not have to pay rent, car payment, daycare or have a job!! Why don't they find someone else how has the struggles of being a single parent...p­aying bills, having a job or two and or going to school, day care expense, health care expenses. She is "if you lucky mom and dad will pay for it all" type... If she was a minority she be label "another single mother on welfare"!! What crap!! I hope Candies get a backlash with this crap!!

Give this about 10-15 months .... Bristol is going to get fed up with Sarah micro-managing her life, telling her how to take care of the baby, who to see and what to do.
Plus she is going to have bits of recognition that her "fun" years of 18-25 are at serious risk of being totally vaporized into some righteous role model charade. Bristol will find ways to "go over the wall" and get out and party with old friends & catch up with the joys of youth that she will see slipping away.
The big question - Will Bristol find another "Bad-Boy" before Sahara assigns her a squeaky clean robo-boyfriend.

This is hilarious. The two young ladies that they're showing up there promoting abstinence aren't virgins. Wasn't Hayden just dating/engaged to a 31 yr old man and Bristol, come on. I'm just saying that I can't believe that Candies couldn't come up with better role models than these two.

If Bristol could point to the challenges that she had to over come - how she had to get a job to finish school, how she had to work hard to provide for her child - or some other examples of how her choice not to be abstinent was one that she can credibly say was an unwise choice - then maybe she would have a coherent and believable message.
Now, she has zero credibility.

Now - as far as what really is going on - I see it like this - Sarah & Todd sat Bristol down and said " Look - your little stunt has bee a real thorn in our side - now you are going to do what we tell you - first you are going to shut-up and do this abstinence gig - it will give you some cash and fix some of our PR problems, you stay away from Levi - we have other plans for you - keep your nose clean an when the dust settles down we will cobble together some home schooling and some individualized instruction and what ever else is necessary to get a high school diploma issued - it will probably take a year or two - maybe we will throw in a couple of college independent study courses so nobody can really figure it out.... in another month or two we will hire a ghost writer to publish a blog for you like that McCain brat. Now what

It is completely possible to have an unwanted pregnancy and a wanted child. There is a reason we have 9 months to get prepared.
