Pakistanis Prioritize Economy Over Terrorism: Poll

As the Pakistani military pressed its campaign to root out Taliban militants from three districts northwest of the capital, a new poll showed that an overwhelming majority of Pakistanis does not consider terrorism to be the most important issue facing the country, but rather the economy.

You would probably get the same results nearly anywhere you polled.

Until the terrorism directly affects people I am sure they would be more interested in having a full stomach, a place to sleep and health care.

But i sincerely doubt a majority of Pakistanis think the Taliban can do anything to help the economy.

People who are hungry will put all their energy towards feeding their family.

It ALWAYS works that way: People who are happy and prosperous DO NOT TOLERATE rebellion and insurgency.

That is why it always irritates me when, inevitably, the few try to divert the resources - the money - of a nation into the hands and pockets of that few.

You have but to look at a nation's inequality curve to determine both its probable longevity and its chances at survival should the "stuff" hit the fan.
