Simon Cowell: Adam Lambert Will WIN 'Idol'

CHICAGO — "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell says he thinks Adam Lambert will win this season of the popular Fox singing competition show.

Cowell told Oprah Winfrey on Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that his money is on Lambert because the contestant is fearless, unique and "he's got swagger."

Winfrey also featured Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle, who is competing on "Britain's Got Talent." Boyle told Winfrey she's "loving every second" of her newfound fame.

The 47-year-old Boyle became famous after she shocked judges and the audience with her version of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Miserables."

One of those judges was Cowell, who congratulated Boyle and wished her "best of luck" on the rest of the competition.

I saw the picture on the entertainment front-page of Simon and Adam and at first thought it was a before and after picture of Simon. And don't read anything into that. Just thought Simon had gone eighties. Like Adam Ant or something.

Adam Lambert has a great future ahead of him regardless of what the voting is, but has Cowell ever come out ahead of the vote like this and declared a winner. It seems very unprofessional to me.

Simon has made a prediction every single year. I can only recall him being wrong once - the year he chose Kathrine McPhee to win, but Taylor Hicks won. It's not unprofessional, he's not really a judge - WE vote, not Simon.

Simon and the rest of the "judges" are just Commentators - making comments and observaions based on their expertise in the business.

American Idol is so great. Did you see Adam Lambert in the white suit singing that song while walking down the stairs??? That was one of my very favorite performances ever. I got goose bumps!! He is an original. You can't make that stuff up.

If you win one of those contests, you hardly get anywhere (with Underwood as the exception). The fickle public usuallly gets rid of the real talent (Yamin, Daughtry, Doolittle, Hudson, etc.) before the finale.

bs. Kelly Clarkson is doing great. So is David Cook. Fantasia is a huge broadway star. Reuben hasn't aken care of his health, and taylor Hick should have never won. Jordan Sparks is doing qiute well, as well. Adam will clean house when he wins.

Idol may not appeal to you but it has a demonstrable track record of discovering some very talented people. Plenty of Grammy awards have been given to idol contestants and one even won an Oscar. You only display your own intolerance with your comment.
