Carlos quick advice, change the name of your site. We've been on stimulus overload. Stimulate banks to lend, job growth, home buying, car buying, buying buying. I'm on stimulus fatigue! The word stimulus has been getting a bum rap in my opinion so it might negatively affect your venture. Either way I'll definately check out your site once it goes up.

I enjoy watching you on MSNBC especially when you take on Morning Joe. They should have you on more because you're great at countering all of Scarborough's nonsense.

Good luck with everything.

looks like someone have their rightwing talking points down pack on the librul media. I'm sure FixedNews is the oasis of "unbias" journalism in your world if u would have read the article it says he's launching a news and opinion site not his own show that "you wont be watching".

YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!. One of the brightest most likable and well informed (ahem) "young" men on the scene today. Great! Unfortunately for MSNBC they missed the boat Carlos should have been the 10 o'clock voice against Sustern and 360 but I guess the big wigs don't see it. Their loss. Hurry Carlos while I can still be considered part of the "change generation".

Zimbo if they let a qualified black person who is liberal on MSNBC he/she would probably get higher ratings than KO and RM combined.
12:40 PM on 05/11/2009
RobXdion, Yeah, you're right, the only people that can get these shows are recycled white men and women. Our MSM wants to make sure keep getting the same type of opinions. There are not looking for anyone thinking outside the box.

If there's more than one black person hosting a news program you'll start seeing some whites fret and panic about "the blacks are taking over!!" I've already seen such posts on other sites. Our media perfectly mimics the larger culture. Affirmative action has helped white women more than anyone because they're the most comfortable derivation from white males. That's the pecking order. Thusly, white women can be found in abundance on any cable news channel as if there were a journalism and TV correspondent school solely for that demographic. But what's REALLY funny is the fact that they do this and then have a segment asking, "Is Race a Problem in American Culture?" As if they've had no part in creating it or anything. It's like waking past their own reflection and asking, "Who's that ugly person following me?"
01:46 PM on 05/11/2009
Oh yes, I concur with both of you. Even taking this mindset to the Obama administration, I've read quite a few comments from whites on other sites complaining about how it's a "black administration" just because the President hired a few minorities for important posts, and throwing around self pitying terms like "reverse discrimination" and "whites need not apply". Honestly, any person in power who doesn't look like a typical country club member incites such paranoia and fear from whites. Same for the media; I wonder how long Aisha Tyler will last with her upcoming show on ABC. Probably not very long.

How are those msnbc ratings anyway, must be low, haven't heard much about them.

I find it difficult to watch Carlos for any length of time. He relies too much on the "cue" cards while talking about a subject and I find his questions to guests a bit longwinded usually with the answer he is expecting which comes across as trying to let the viewer know how smart he is.
11:01 AM on 05/11/2009
In other words...he's prepared and he asks smart questions.

Yeah, but he can't get a MSNBC show, huh?
07:44 PM on 05/11/2009
Rob I see where they are giveing some white lady dr a show on MSNBC. What does a black person have to do to get a gig on that channel? Maybe this will be one of the topics discussed on CW's new website. I am going to be curious on how his venture goes. i wish him luck.

Like most black commentators (e.g., Eugene Robinson) they get provocative on blogs and articles and say things they wouldn't normally say around whites. It's a shame it has to be that way, but people's sensitivities can't take being told how they really are.
