Democracy Now!:

AMY GOODMAN: I think what's so interesting about this story is not only what the Pentagon has done; it's the lack of reporting on this by the networks. Of course, you know, that is your subject here, how the networks use them. How many times have you been invited on the networks--you just won the Pulitzer Prize for this investigation--to explain this story of the networks' use of these pundits?

DAVID BARSTOW: You know, to be honest with you, I haven't received many invitations--in fact, any invitations--to appear on any of the main network or cable programs. I can't say I'm hugely shocked by that.

Read the whole story: Democracy Now!

When the Fascist segment of our society control the news. We have officially become a Fascist State.

That is the reason that I voted for Obama: To Stop Fascism in this Country.
George Bush, Dick Cheney, The Federalist Society, These are all examples of Fasism in America.

Investigatory, autonomous, and serious journalism died long ago in this country. Frank Wisner's grand scheme to sabotage the American free press has come true. In the 1950s he spearheaded Operation Mockingbird for the CIA, and coerced the most powerful media moguls of the day--the Luces, the Grahams, Bill Paley, the Sulzberger family, C.D. Jackson, and others--to protect black ops and propagandize the citizenry. Wisner once boasted that, Mockingbird was like his own "mighty Wurlitzer...I can play any tune I want on it and America will follow along." A half-century later, the truth is still suppressed.

As the mother of 14-year-old twin boys, I am nauzeated at the fact that these impotent old soldiers are happy to make money off the deaths of our boys in uniform. I doubt you will even see this on Keith or Rachel, as McCaffrey is a "consultant" for M,S,N,B,C. Just disgusting.

Everyone should really watch the entire broadcast linked. It's long and slow but worth it.

Do you really think that if the American public truly believed Iraq had something to do with 9/11, this type of propaganda would have been necessary? I don’t seem to recall the country having to be "sold" on WW2 after having been attacked. This war was all about BUSH, CHENEY and the republican party. They wanted IRAQ, not bin laden.
I despise liars.

With a few exceptions, U.S. news media were servile to Bush and Cheney. As a result, many Americans are unfamiliar with key facts about the war in Iraq. For example, questions about the legality of the war were very consciously ignored by the U.S. news media; and many Americans still believe the bizarre fiction that Saddam kicked out UN weapons inspectors, leaving the U.S. no choice but to go to war. But enough about National Public Radio . . . .

So you're implying that NPR was in the Bush/Cheney pocket as well? I find that extraordinarily difficult to believe. In my experience, NPR was one of the few networks who were trying to get REAL facts out to their listeners. NPR maintains journalistic integrity, despits what most neo-cons would like you to believe about the network.

NPR was horrible. In 2003, every other story was about the military, and how well trained they were, and the hardships endured by military families, and of course the notorious story entitled "Interrogation Music." That obscenity was still on the NPR website, last time I checked.

Of course they ignored it!
It's "Operation Mockingbird"!
You think the networks are going to admit to having been used as paid shills for the MIC?
