GOP Doubles Down On Rush (VIDEO)

Cheney

As you have no doubt heard, Dick Cheney made an appearance on this past Sunday's Face The Nation, at which time the former vice president threw General Colin Powell under the proverbial bus, asserting talk-radio entertainer Rush Limbaugh is a more authentic voice of the GOP. And, lo: CONTROVERSY! I mean, I'd hardly want to trade Powell's decorated career for Limbaugh's pilonidal cyst, but how was Cheney supposed to answer that? "Oh, yes, Bob! The guy who made a big showy affair of endorsing Barack Obama in the last election? He's the heart of our party!"

Media Matters for America would remind you that once again, a GOP figure has publicly asserted the primacy of Rush Limbaugh in GOP leadership terms. And maybe that really is the state of things! What are the alternatives? Weird and incompetent Michael Steele? That group of guys who went out for pizza together? Meghan McCain?

[WATCH.]

One interesting pull from this video comes at about 0:35, where Limbaugh jokes, "They don't need a second act, Obama is the second terrorist act." I must confess that I had forgotten about this line! And while there's still no excuse for her "kidney failure" joke, it can be fairly stated that Limbaugh himself opened the door for Wanda Sykes' "20th hijacker" joke, which has also been somewhat controversial since the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

So, it would seem that Media Matters has made note of this, as well.

Holy C.RA.P. why is no one pursuing this:
Cheney was asked during the interview on Face the Natio whether Bush knew AS MUCH as he,Cheney, knew. After stumbling around, "Well, I think he did" (That statement alone merits investigation) Cheney finally said that "bush signed off on it"

Something Limbaugh and Cheney did good for the country - destroying the Republican Party.

I am waiting with baited breath for the Media to do thier job as a whole.
This failed Republican Party is beating the drums to incite a racial incident in which our Beloved
President is the Target.

The Racially cloaked Hate Rhetoric is "NO" accident. The opportunities for the Media
to put the Dinosaur Party in check and push back at the propaganda they are spewing and
revive journalistic integrity has been all to often lost.

Something is dreadfully wrong in our Country when we can hear the drum beat of Treason
by a shrinking party who lost most of thier teeth and continue to cause some in the Media to quake in their boots because of a few big mouth hate mongers who are drumming up a lynch mob to incite anarchy.

For Heavens sake, "Don't pretend that you don't hear the murderous suggestions and the racial hatred that have been poorly disguised as to be explained away by Right Wing loyalest enablers".

If there are any heros in this scenario it will be those who call the task not just Republicans but anyone who acts in a treasonist manner and participates in Propaganda with divissive measures that tear at the fabric of "Our" Nation.

The guy just can't go away quick enough. Every time he opens his mouth, he reminds us of the colossal degree of incompetence that the Bush administration shoved down our throats for eight long years. Are the 'pubs' too ignorant to realize that? Apparently so.

All during the Bush admin and now during Cheney's tour I have felt like they pointed at a volcano and said there is no volcano there. Then they pointed at an empty field and said if I didn't follow them and approve their tactics that a volcano was going to erupt and kill us all. Nothing has changed with them.

Cheney and Limbaugh are patterns from the same cloth. As long as the republican party wears this outfit, they will become less and less relevant to political discourse in this country.

As with all gambling, doubling down involves taking a risk. GOP's gonna lose twice as much if they keep betting on "Annual Fissure" Limbaugh.

Let them double-down on Limbaugh, it means they will lose TWICE as many votes in the next election!
