I Like ItI Don’t Like It
G

Former Minnesota Governor and one-time professional wrestler Jesse Ventura went public on Larry King Live yesterday with some harsh criticisms of the Bush administration, as well as Senator Norm Coleman.

...Coleman's always been a hypocrite. He never does what he says. He said election night, when he won, that [Al] Franken should drop out, and he should be the senator. Well, then the same should hold true after the recount.

Ventura, who beat out Coleman in the 1998 Minnesota gubernatorial race, said that any federal appeal by the senator should be thrown out.

Ventura also came out against the Bush administration, calling George Bush the "worst president in my lifetime" and saying he has "no respect for Dick Cheney."

Claiming that he was water-boarded as part of Navy Seal training he received during the Vietnam War era, Ventura says:

[Water-boarding] is torture... It's drowning. It gives you the complete sensation that you are drowning. It is no good, because you -- I'll put it to you this way, you give me a water board, Dick Cheney and one hour, and I'll have him confess to the Sharon Tate murders.

Cheney's heart would pop after 5 seconds. That''s too good for him. He deserves to rot in a hole for as long as medical science can keep him alive.

Good ol' Jesse--always good for a sound bite worth quoting. Personally, while I abhor torture, the thought of a consummate coward, quisling and miscreant such as Cheney being waterboarded does appeal to my sense of vengeance. Tell you what Jesse, I'll give you two hours--a man with no heart and no conscience may take a little longer to break.

Hmmmn: an ex-Navy Seal against a five time draft dodger... Let me think, let me think -- this is such a tough decision, by golly!

I voted for this guy then, and would again. calls it as he sees it, and has the ability to admit a change in philosophy if he believes he's wrong. He also said, " it's not an honorable war unless you're willing to send your son."

I don't know about an ambassadorship to Cuba but Jesse needs his own TV show. Maybe the 10pm slot on MSNBC? I'd watch him every night rip apart the neo-con phonies.

Oh and Jesse is still sexy with that cleft chin.

You have it wrong! Cheney says it WORKS but it is not torture. Okay. Why doesn't he submit himself for waterboarding so we can find out who was on
his energy task force that he would not reveal? Hey Dick how about that?

Jesse For President! It is about Time someone has spoken up so Passionately about this subject AGAINST it rather than the Republican Media for it!

Jesse is Absolutely correct in this interview. But too many politicians on the take to look the other way these days - so none of Jesse' ideas will ever happen.

One thing I don't understand about people who argue that waterboarding isn't torture: If we train our soldiers to resist torture by subjecting them to waterboarding in the SERE program, doesn't that mean waterboarding is included among things that our military considers to be torture?

Jesse Ventura is right. I'd be claiming to have the Lindbergh baby in my backyard if you tortured me long enough.

A Paperview event that could revive the economy..Jesse waterboarding Cheney.

Think about it. It would break all the previous combined Super Bowl viewing records.

People would buy new plasma TVs ...Cities could fill their stadiums with viewers and have live pre-waterboading concerts...Popcorn, Nacho, Margarita and Beer sales would soar....

And parades in the streets after!!!

A win win for all who believe in justice, truth and the american way !!!

Go Jessie! How about doing it to Cheney on TV for charity at $1,000 a second. Oops, that was Hannity. Guess Sean was all talk, as always.

Drive on, Jesse. The best reply possible to all those non-combat chicken-hawk neo-con cowards who have put this nation and the world in such dire straits. Too bad our president and our legislators do not have the courage or wherewithal to do the right thing and indict the people who broke US and international law. Political expediency drives every decision they make. no matter the party. Unless public pressure is unrelenting, justice will never be served, and the internal rot of this nation will continue to worsen at an ever increasing rate. The same forces that ripped apart the Roman Empire are at work here. The corruption at the heart of the Washington establishment must be excised or the United States of America will continue to die a slow and inglorious death.

The Roman Empire analogy is a good one. The Roman Republic began its demise when it embraced unfettered military expansion, and knuckled under to Caesar when he declared himself Emperor of Rome (Unitary Executive, in Cheney-speak). Granted, the Senate eventually stabbed him to death, but the precedent had been set, and future Caesars took advantage of it. If the U.S. suffers the same fate as Rome any time soon, future historians will likely point to the Nixon to Dubya years as the seminal decades that brought us down.

Give it time.. They'll get around to it. First things first. Good point about chicken-hawks, though. That's the one thing that's bugged me the most, that nobody who was hot about going to war has ever had to do it themselves.

It isn't up to the President to make that choice, it is his AG... and until we the people start clamoring for investigations there is no political climate where this won't be used as a rallying point by conservatives of every stripe.

I don't doubt for a moment that Obama wants them brought to justice. The question is do the majority of Americans? The polls say no right now... but as more people common citizens and high profile representatives speak out the greater our chances.

Wow, what a straight talking guy. He is exactly like the other two Seals I have known, they have no need to pretend or lie, they already have proven themselves to themselves. Its not surprising he had a very tough time as a governor, being a straight talking politician is a hard row to hoe.

Since Cheney still advocates waterboarding, I find it the best idea to subject him personally and thoroughly to the method.
In this way his real crimes would come out in the same sweep. Unfortunately the bad thing remains that he would confess to everything, not only to his own crimes.
But after having undergone the process himself at least he would finally understand why it is just simple torture and not a "method" to find out truth!

Why would it be bad if he confessed to "everything"? This could be the thread that unravels the whole sweater, if we just keep tugging on it.

Well, it's not much use to us if he confesses to having killed Lincoln or having set the Great Chicago fire.

That's the problem with ham-fisted interrogation techniques, those who believe that waterboarding was an effective tool aren't the least bit familiar with the actual process. That's what makes Yoo and Bybee's memos all the more laughable. Two lawyers sitting in overstuffed chairs playing at a game about which they know nothing.

Having Ventura step into the fray and call out all the BS with which regressives are trying to cover up the truth is priceless!
