Kate Gosselin: I Didn't Cheat With My Bodyguard

NEW YORK — Reality TV star Kate Gosselin said she isn't cheating on her husband, Jon, and called the accusations disgusting and unthinkable.

In a story published Tuesday on People magazine's Web site, Gosselin said she's the target of tabloid lies romantically linking her with a bodyguard who frequently travels with the family. She spoke out following recent accounts that portrayed her as the victim of her husband's infidelity.

The Gosselins, along with their eight children, star on the TLC reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which captures on-camera the challenges of raising a large family.

But TV stardom has brought its own challenges in the form of unsought media attention.

Last week, Jon Gosselin denied reports of an affair with a 23-year-old schoolteacher, while apologizing for having put his family in an "awkward situation."

Now, it's Kate Gosselin's turn.

"The next story coming out from the animals that stalk us is about our security person and his family," she said, referring to bodyguard Steve Neild. "Already the allegations they're making about me are disgusting, unthinkable, unfathomable, and I am horrified."

She voiced regret that the family's friends had been drawn into the media frenzy, and said she was "totally panicking" that the scandalous publicity might drive them away.

"I keep calling them, begging, `Seriously, I'm so sorry. Don't run away from us.' They keep saying, `We're fine, we're fine.' But they have paparazzi in front of their house. It's so upsetting."

The fifth season of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" premieres May 25.

If either one of them has time for an affair, child protective services should be involvded . There is not way you can raise 8 kids with 6 all the same age and be messing around. No way at all.

She's trying to distract from the real (and painful) story, which is her husband's cheating. She did not cheat, so it's an easy distraction and a place where she can channel some of that anger she has. She's got to be scared to death of being a single mother of a brood that size, with few options except to continue down this sell-out path she's taken for financial gain. And at that point, the gig might be up, anyway. Who wants to hear her berate her kids like she constantly berates her husband? She's got some real issues that should have been worked out long before having children.

Let's rethink this. How about being on TV helping to foot the bills? He's some kind of IT professional, but even he needed big time help to give the kids the advantages he wants them to have. I hear they film three to four days of the week, and Kate, who is neurotic as hell, is the first line of defense for her kids. I like this show, even recognizing that John is a different personality type than his wife and she is a bully who doesn't like that fact, and that Kate has some kind of compulsive disorder that is being transferred to the kids (I shudderthed at the sight of one of the boys in a panic because he got paint on himself). I love the kids and the way the parents are trying to raise them and I enjoy watching them. I have been a fan from day one and would miss feeling a part of the kids' growth and development. I wish them the best.

hmmm... I don't think she cheated she's to gross, but why does it matter their relationship is over and it's her fault. Why would they need body guards? Someone's going to get at their "baby strollers"? What do they got that anyone want's - what a nightmare of a life they have made for themselves. She is vile in every over consuming way, her overly cut ugly hair cut, her bad personality, their cars that you can stand up in, their three houses in five years, ---- Jon has had bad parenting - someone should of taken him aside and told him that this isn't the kind of girl you marry because she is a vile person and would make a dispicable mother. I kind of feel sorry for him.

Way I see it - TLC put out the rumour. Jon probably cheated - at least most people believe he did -and that kinda tarnishes the product. They counter with a Kate rumour that most people WON'T believe and then they can say how this poor family is the victim of gossip mongers - and just like that - it's easier to believe Jon didn't cheat either.

This is what happens with fame. I wouldn't want no parts of it. You can tell the celebrities who love their jobs but HATE the fame that comes with it. Many of them are hermits and refuse to give interviews. I can't blame them one bit.

The problem that many have with the show is the constant exploitation of the children. A couple of years would have been fine, but the little ones have had cameras shoved in their faces since birth. What happens to them and their sisters once all of the attention stops? Where is their privacy? It's not about hating on the parents, it about the rumors that get played in the national news that will ultimately filter to the children. Enough already.

Don't you think "whoring" is a little harsh? I've seen the show a few of times; it's amusing. Take it for what it is. Watch it or not. Just because they choose to give people a glimpse into a few aspects of their lives doesn't mean what they're doing is a bad thing. It certainly doesn't give any one of us to judge them so harshly. We all need to mind our own lives and stop being so vicious & judgmental!
