Ed Schultz is great. He's different than Olbermann or Maddow. He's more like a Chris Matthews - which is a good way to be. Keith and Rachel's shows are fast becoming half news/ half comedy. Too ridiculous for me these days.

I'll take a Kennedy liberal over a Perez Hilton liberal anyday.

I wish Ed Schultz the best and hope they move him into the 7PM and 10PM slots. 6 PM is quiet time on cable tv.

"I'm not you quintessential liberal."

So what's wrong with being a liberal? Liberal is beautiful. Don't apologize for being liberal.

Ed has his own point of view and that is very similar to a lot of us who live in the heartland. Easterners and Left Coasters just don't get it I guess. He supports the unions and hunters. Can't go wrong doing that!

Ed is the Arlen Specter of liberal news commentators. He couldn't make it as a conservative so he switched parties to see if that would work. The only problem is he still has the old baggage running around in his head. I.E. he supports not disclosing the new torture photo's.

That's okay Ed. I never lumped you in with Keith or Rachel. I forgot you were even there.

Ed's doing a great job. The set/camera movement needs to be toned down a little. Too many flashing lights behind him as he's making a point - kind of diminishes the thought. Needs to be more about the ideas rather than the CNBC-ish over-flashy sets.

Ed Shultz devotes way too much of his time and energy to "proving" to the Republicans that he is not "one of us." Shouldn't we all be insulted by anyone who claims entitlement to a liberal audience on radio and TV, yet publicly disavows anything in common with us. It's like all liberals are his secret poor family members, and he goes out in public and pretends he's descended from royalty, and if we pass on the street, he pretends he does not even know us.

I figured this out the first time I listened to his radio show and he spent so much time in that macho-male posturing about how much he loves to massacre small, furry, unarmed animals (what fun thing to do) and football. Football, with the cracking of bones, the masculine dominance over others, crushing the opponents. Oh yes, Ed, a manly-man if I ever saw one. Not for him the comforts of home and hearth, reading a good book, petting the family cat. No, he's engaged only in manly-man activities and interests. No poetry books on his shelf. No "sissy" "whining" liberal demands for him.

I figured that if he found it so humiliating to have anything in common with a traditional liberal, with traditional liberal concerns for the poor, for the weak, for the helpless, then I would stay far away from him so as not to risk embarrassing him by association. I don't watch his show.

I felt bad for Shuster. I was receiving his Twitters every day back in March and he seemed so excited about 1600 every night. He was always asking for ideas/suggestions. He even used some of my suggestions (unless it was just a coincidence-lol). Then I heard Shuster was supposed to be doing a show with Tamron Hall in the afternoons from 3-5. That never materialized.

But I do enjoy Ed. And I do like the floating camera thing and then million different camera angles. That seems to add a little interest or excitement to it. Ed's got a lot of passion and he's fun. So I'll keep watching.

David Shuster had improved considerably on Gregory's ratings.

I think Shuster's show was really good--and getting better.

The (stupidly named) "Ed Show" is irritating. He's not the journalist Shuster is---and, no, Ed, you're also not the journalist Olbermann and Maddow are.

Emotion doesn't --shouldn't-- take the place of information.

MSNBC--Please bring back David Shuster. He was great.

I was excited when I heard Ed got his own show. But, I am really disappointed how uninformed he is about health care, etc. He doesn't even know that Obama never campaigned on only single payer health care. It was always going to be a combination of public and private...Hillary campaigned on single payer/w mandatory penalties. He never interacts with the pundits he puts in the boxes..he just lets them spew..........he does not do his homework to back up his outrage......do your homework ED!!

That's strange. I've heard him on the radio show say that Obama did not campaign on single payer. Maybe that was after the fact.

Still, I do respect that he will change his opinion when he becomes more informed.

I AGREE WITH YOU 100%.

He's full of fluff. He's glib, not informative or substantive. He comes across as a cheerleader, not a "thought" leader. It's unfortunate. I was looking forward to a more coherent, considerate, and provocative Chris Matthews-type, without the sexist baggage.

Shame.

This show is kind of weird, the camera moving around all the time reminds me of the Glenn Beck show. Not that Ed is a crazy like Beck, but I think they need another format. Just Saying.

He wasn't putting down Keith and Rachel. His show is new to MSNBC, so he is doing "branding" interviews to establish who he is and what sets him apart. He comes to his liberal positions differently, being a former conservative who is seeing the light. Always read Politico with a BIG grain of salt. They are out to be provocative. They are not a friend to progressives.
