New York Times:

Ten minutes into arrant mayhem in this town near the Mexican border, and the gunman, a disgruntled Iraq war veteran, has already taken out two people, one slumped in his desk, the other covered in blood on the floor.

The responding officers -- eight teenage boys and girls, the youngest 14 -- face tripwire, a thin cloud of poisonous gas and loud shots -- BAM! BAM! -- fired from behind a flimsy wall. They move quickly, pellet guns drawn and masks affixed.

Gang Recruit Effort Alleged At Middle School in Va.

"Efforts by a street gang to recruit Fairfax County youths have led to the arrests of seven Chantilly area teenagers, ages 13 and 16, and county officials said yesterday that the episode serves as a reminder that middle school-age youths are the most vulnerable to being lured down the path of delinquency, drugs and even violence.'"

Do you call the gangs by the same name you are calling the cops? They are the same age as the youths in NY. Is that gang leader a Nazi, The SS, Brown Shirts, and Black Shirts.

The gangs are recruiting too, and they don't care about YOUR sensibilities.

Stop all this nonsense about Hitler youth and the like, you are embarrassing yourself, you sound like fools! You have NO Idea what Hitler was about or you would not be using that analogy. Hitler killed 6 million Jews.

Come back to reality and make an honest effort to discuss rational issues with wisdom and thought instead of using rhetoric and hyperbole.

We buffoon Republicans when they go off the rails, well you're doing the same here!!!

Policing is (I can't believe I even have to say this) a honorable profession, there is nothing wrong with giving kids exposure to that career path, if gangs are recruiting at 10, 11,12 of 13 waiting until teens are 18 is TOO LATE!!!

By indoctrinating our youth to be shooters, we PERPETUATE the violence!

They all grow up knowing nothing else, so they do nothing else, generationally!

Hitler killed more than 12 million, it started with this type of indoctrination. The Hitler Youth, extreme nationalism, jingoistic propaganda, combined with constant fear mongering, and the entire population of Germany were willing conspirators in Hitlers plans.

Being a good cop is not about using machine guns. These kids are being trained to kill and at 14, I think that's a little young. If this is what you want, then this program is one way to get it.

Yet another step in preparing America to become a police state. Nationalism at its finest. While I do not agree with Globalism, Nationalism is a wrong step in maintaining auto-determination among nations.

The analogies to Nazism, The SS, Brown Shirts, and Black Shirts, is quite correct. This is a slow, insidious process that is occurring in America. In Europe, nationalist sentiments are easy to inculcate into the masses. In America, a long, slow process due to cultural diversity and other factors.

The clouds of fascism hover over America, yet seems to rear its ugly head in other parts of the world quite easily. The Boy Scouts, quickly becoming yet another corporate tool.

I do not know about all that, though I do think it is a bit much. Maybe at 17-18 (I was in the Army at 17) but at 14.. minds that young only obey, they do not think for themselves and that is a recipe for disaster.
