There are probably good reasons to give Richard Fuld a job at the hedge fund Matrix Advisors. He is familiar with byzantine financial products: Lehman Brothers, the bank he used to run, gorged on them until it collapsed. He might know them enough to be more careful around them the next time.

An organization is on the ropes when rewards and kudos are thrown at swindlers, liars and thieves.
The CEO of the American Republic established the precedents and procedures that covered up financial crimes of enormity against the Organization, then put in place the same miscreants who made the financial crimes possible.
The crooked bank CEOs are returning to finish the job of bringing the American Republic down and money and making the financial institution the master of the universe.
When good deeds are ignored or punished and evil calumny is covered up and rewarded, the organization falls into a world of chaos and charlantry. Leaders are measured on the manner in which they manipulate the membership and consolidate power for themselves.
The actual problems are addressed during and after absolute power has been concntrated in the hands of a solitary administrator. The people are no longer included in the decision making process and the public dole subverts influence.

The full article speaks of the US as the land of 2nd chances. This isn't about 2nd chances. This is about membership in an elite that looks after its own.

Remember all the members of all the boards of directors that never cared about their fiduciary responsibilities? They gave the CEOs they presided over---the same CEOs they served with on other boards---obscenely huge pay packages even when the companies were headed into the pits of hell, even when the workers were sacrificing their benefits (their CONTRACTS) to keep companies afloat. It's all of a piece, and the Federal Reserves (esp. Geithner) are to blame, too. Look at how Fed boards are chosen at every branch: http://www.newyorkfed.org/aboutthefed/fedpoint/fed10.html.

These ex-execs are getting jobs at other Wall Street firms b/c they all understand greed, a greed that puts its faith in financial instruments, not actual labor. These men, like their CONpatriots, are rewarded for their audacity, which all Wall Street fawned over. As usual, s/he who sits in an annually remodeled executive suite as s/he screws millions of their wealth will probably never go to prison but might pay a minor fine, while the poor person of color who steals 2 tires to feed his family will be sent to the pen for 2 years, losing job, home, car, etc. The problem is systemic, not the product of bad apples, and until it is addressed as such, nothing will change.

unfortunately, this is not so. all of the CEOs of all the big companies are board members of OTHER companies. they all know each other, they all mingle, and they all cover their own *sses. that's why they pay each other huge bonuses, collect golden parachutes, etc.

the elite are all protecting themselves, and throwing plenty of money at DC to make sure the laws favor them and screw us. CORPORATISM RULES, thanx to republican govts from Nixon to now.
